Please, please Parks and Rec writers, write him a "No half measures, Ron" speech!

It was very funny. Love Andy - he's such a great character.

New episode was at the high standard i have come to expect from this show. Agree Andy is a great character but I think its possible to go too overboard with the stupidity.
That being said, I did crack up at him trying to use amalgam in a sentence:pac:

Gotta say not a huge fan of first episode of the new season..

It had a slow start but it will get better- the John McCain cameo was underwhelming.

I reckon I watch a good 95% of the sitcoms I come across, including some awful dross altogether that I feel I have to finish out, but I just can't watch this show. I've tried twice now, never get past the third episode. I can't understand its popularity.

Forget season 1 and jump straight into season 2... almost a different show...

Nope, tried two different season. Just not for me I guess. Just don't find the characters particularly funny.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,225 ✭✭✭snausages

For me it didn't really become a good show until the hunting trip episode of season 2. Up to that point I was just sticking with it to see if it would get good. Which it did. It kind of fell off the radar for me when season 4 came about, must catch up on that.

I'm starting to think I'm the only boards user that actually liked it from the beginning:D
Dahamsta, sometimes we have to accept that a show is not for us even though lots of others seem to love it.
What other sitcoms do you enjoy if you don't mind me asking.

I've liked it from the begining, although it only really finds its feet about 4 or 5 episodes into the first season. I think the writers had ideas for the characters, and only got aquianted with how to portray the characters after a few episodes.

The start of the new season is great, Ron is a hero. He has started to get a huge cult following, I just hope that the focus of the show doesnt shift too much to him, Ron in small doses is best.

The closing up of the pit was the big watershed moment I think. That plot was ****.

Loved the first one back, I really hated Andy at the start but he has grown on me over the last couple of seasons. Hope tonights one is as good.

Oh man, that was an absolutely excellent episode - so many good moments and Ron in make-up was just hilarious. Amazing that after 5 seasons, it's still brilliant.

Surely I'm not the only one that went "aw" when Ben proposed to Leslie.

You weren't - it also sets up the season nicely.

Ron snapping the Tiara was epic.

.. oh Chris Pratt, you're one funny bastard! :D

I thought Season 1 wasn't great myself. I started in over the summer and only for that I mightn't have stayed but definitely the show got into it's stride from Season 2 onwards.

I'm giving a shout out to April! She's a great character! I love her whole 'Yeah... whatever' attitude. She's like a mini Ron only without the mustache and much more insanely cute!

Chris Pratt is such a good physical comedian. When he broke the light switch and then leaped over the desk, destroying everything else, it was hilarious!

This week's episode has to have been the funniest half hour of TV I've seen in such a long time. There were just so many ingenious and hilarious moments, especially involving Leslie and Tammy.

Very good episode, but they always are when Tammy shows up! Also, loved the part where Ron wins the award and one of his rivals leaves in a huff - just like the Oscars.

    Season 5 has been brilliant!!

If it and Community doesn't get picked up again and TBBT and Two and a Half Men does along with 30 Rock ending will push me over the edge. NBC makes it so hard to love them sometimes

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,503 ✭✭✭✭Also Starring LeVar Burton

^TBBT and 2.5 Men have absolutely nothing to do with NBC, so I dunno why you're bringing them into it... Obviously I agree about Parks and Rec and Community needing to be renewed though...

oh I know I just mean I don't understand how those two are the most watched. 30 Rock, Parks and Recs and Community all have better writing imo anyways.

Episode 13 is brilliant, especially just after
Ron blurts out that he loved his gf - "I LOVE NOTHING!!!!"

I'm making my way through the West Wing for the first time (I know, I know) and in episode 5 of season 1, look who makes an appearance -

He was also a random bad guy in 24 Season 2!

Loved the last 2 episodes, it's been a good season so far.

He also plays the police chief in the recent 21 Jump Street movie. Just a small roll, but fairly entertaining.

In the last episode I loved Ben describing how the guys were helping him pick a caterer. Chris is the salad expert, Ron the meat expert and Tom considers himself a foodie so has mostly been taking pictures on instagram.

I know so many people who do that every time they eat out or cook from scratch.

There has been a mistake. You've given me the food my food eats.

I wish "You're on with Ron" was a real TV show, I'd watch it 24/7.

This weeks ep was great as always. I loved the scene after Ron leaves the doctor and the doctor says "I wish all my patients were like that, it's really annoying when they ask questions". Great stuff :D

There were several genuine laugh out loud moments in this episode - it's nailed on the best comedy on TV at the moment, nothing is touching it.

I loved the rich dude's cheque made out to "Go f**k yourself"

    "BOOM!!"

Ron eating the bananna at the end was also funny.

I love Aubrey Plaza's delivery of every one of her lines, she's brilliant.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 27 Wagon Watching

Aubrey Plaza is brilliant, they have made April a much broader character this season, she's excellent in a film called Safety Not Guaranteed too by the way. They are definitely filling Andys character out a bit too. Much cleverer this year, scoring 100% on his police written test and showing proper insight with the charity.

Love this show, favourite comedy on TV by a mile. Some of the occasional characters are brilliant. Perd Hapley is fantastic!
2 episodes this week, 2nd ones title looks like a spoiler, I hope said character isn't leaving, they all work so well together.

Oh, and 1st 4 seasons are on US Netflix if anyone is interested.

Really dislike Audrey Plaza, worst part of the show apart from token black ladies pointless character.

    http://www.broadsheet.ie/2013/04/17/kanye-fail/

^ Good example of why I dislike her there, pretends to be all deep and mysterious but is just another boring attention seeker, glad Will Ferrel made it so awkward for her.

The show needs to focus more on Ron, Tom, Perd and Pawnee in general, the rest arent really all that funny.

It was a publicity stunt.. pure and simple!

She had the name of her new movie across her cleavage.

There was nothing deep and mysterious about it.
