Itv 4 sporting rights and UPC

    Anybody else just peeved off with this whole blocking of Sports on itv 4 on UPC . I love itv 4,s cycling coverage and that gets blocked presumingly because of that dreadful station Tg4 showing tour de France . I see now daily highlights of vuelta de espana starting this sat night on itv 4 are also blocked. Surely no other Irish station is showing it . Is it all down to eurosport then :-/.

    All sports seemed to be blocked full stop - BTCC is not shown on any other station but is blocked - it is extremely annoying

    Yet no such problems with sky or free to air , it makes a cod of the bloody station to be honest .

    I wouldn't blame TG4 for that. Eurosport show it too don't forget. Is that blocked on UPC?

    ITV clearly only buys UK rights to their sporting events.

    TG4 should be commended for showing the Tour de France. If they didn't show it then who would?

    It seems they are being a bit over-cautious with the sporting rights, with practically all sports programmes on ITV4 blocked, even if there is no domestic rights holder in Ireland. Its a shame but better than no ITV4 at all, and most of the rugby coverage tends to be repeated on ITV1.
