Called Setanta, asked about price and how quick it could be put on, before giving bank details noticed it was cheaper online, then 2 minutes later boom the two channels came on without me purchasing. Did the caller **** up or can you all see it for now?

Second bloody time he has gotten himself injured moments before an Ireland game in the last year.

Not a great sign - hopefully not indicative of anything long-term.

EDIT: On the other hand, we are missing three of our first chocie strikers and still have the quality of Walters and Cox to call on. Strength in depth in the front line is higher than ever.

Yeah I like Walters, but a bit of a stretch to call Cox quality. WBA couldn't find a place for him in their top 4 strikers, which says a lot.

Hope he goes and scores a hattrick now to prove me wrong!!

Anyone know why the Serbs are booing their own keeper?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,734 ✭✭✭✭noodler

I still can't work out where everyone is playing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 541 ✭✭✭DEVEREUX

Why is the serb keeper being given the boo treatment??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,561 ✭✭✭Duff

    Think because he's shíte, apparently.

What he has done for Ireland whilst being an outcast at WBA is what has shown me his quality.

He seemed to play well when given a chance at WBA (mostly Carling Cup games and the FA Cup) but it didn't seem to matter.

I remember a hat-trick in the FA Cup in January I think.

Just checked, that keeper plays for Partizan Belgrade and the match is on in Red Star Belgrade's pitch. Hate each other.

    From wiki

....However, as Radomir Antić got fired after the draw with Slovenia, Stojković was called up again by the new coach Vladimir Petrović for the next qualifier against Estonia at home on 8 October 2010. This was the first national team home match for Stojković following his club switch to FK Partizan and he received a fair amount of verbal abuse from the Red Star fans in the crowd. All the insulting chants clearly got to him as he let in a long range goal as Estonia tied the score at 1–1. Later, with Estonia leading 2–1, Stojković made another mistake that led to a goal, after miscommunication with centre back Aleksandar Luković leading to a back pass that ended up in the Serbian goal.[36] Only four days later, on 12 October, before the qualifier between Italy and Serbia in Genoa, Stojković was assaulted by the group of the Zvezda fans who broke into the Serbian team bus....

Not too sure if that is still the reason..

McClean is very confident on the ball, refreshing to see

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,133 ✭✭✭Stevecw

Decent 1st 15, McClean & McCarthy making us pass the ball a lot more than we usually do. Have dominated possesion for a change

    Liking McShane's contribution so far.

He is decisive when it comes to tackling and clearing - its when he gets the ball I crap myself.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,734 ✭✭✭✭noodler

    Booing your own keeper.

    What an idea.

    EDIT: He did well there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 541 ✭✭✭DEVEREUX

It was a poor pass to him. He was trying not to get a yellow card for taking out their player

Decent amount of, and use of, possession in that 45 from us.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 6,798 ✭✭✭karma_

Not a great match by any stretch, just wanted to say though, Ireland have played better in that first half than they have in the last 2 years. The shame is, there's no new faces, same players were available for selection in that time, same manager yet we squandered an entire competition.

Not a bad first half, some hope for optimism. Hopefully Trap will realize that it is possible for us to pass the ball through midfield via James McCarthy.

A 3rd man in midfield works - who'd have thunk it :pac:

Kelly struggling at LB, but as he is normally a RB not so surprising.

Is McClean playing in CM then?

we are very solid, except at lb,where to be fair to kelly he does not play, but we have no real threat in their box,we will rsally miss robbie by the end of this campaign!

ps. i wish someone would just delete mcshanes number from traps phone...

Awful cross by McShane, Coleman should have been given a chance.

The guy on my stream pronounces O'Dea as O' Day-a. Sounds very like De Gea!

    Good save there

    Fine stop.
