I just got my results and I'm fairly certain that I've got the points for the course I wanted.

So I wanted to ask people for advice for applying to Trinity Hall. I live in Sligo, which is a fair distance away, so I have an advantage.

    Any tips for my application?

Write lots in the "about you" paragraph thing. they say it doesnt count toward much but thats bull. and dont count on getting in because you live far away.

They want people who will be able to get along with strangers as flatmates, and also not a bad shout to sound like you'd participate in the whole Halls community. Basically, I'M A PEOPLE PERSON WHO LOVES PEOPLE ALMOST AS MUCH AS I LOVE MEETING NEW PEOPLE. The distance thing is a bit of a factor (I'm from Cork and I doubt that was a disadvantage) but it's not guaranteed, I know a few people from the north who didn't get in while people from Kildare and even Dublin did.

Best of luck, it's a really good place to stay in 1st Year, and saved my ass as regards not knowing anyone in the city.

Throw in a few things about societies you were involved in at school, helps give the impression that you would contribute to the halls community. Which is an absolutely fabulous experience by the way!
