Folks, however it went, things will be ok.

You are about to embark on life outside the school and family environment. You are embarking on a whole new chapter in your lives.

These results are not the start of great things to come, likewise they are not the road to ruin.

If you didn't get the results you wanted, well feck it, you'll just have to take a different route to achieve your goals, or indeed your goals may change. As part of this new route you may indeed have a better endpoint, and might get more sex on the way.

Hate the way the media highlight the guys that get the great grades. This is a real downer for a lot of people in particular for those that did not do that well. Must say it affected me when I got my results. In saying that, I'm doing ok now so I am.

Couldn't agree more-today is about making some memories. I guarantee you won't even remember most of your grades by the end of next year :D

The very best of luck to you all, enjoy the day no matter what. And if it doesn't go your way, just keep calm and deal with it tomorrow. It's never as bad as you think (I've been there).;)

Surpassed all my expectations, was confident but not of this! 7 higher A1's and an A2 in English, I guess they felt compelled to put me down somewhere! Mouldy tonight!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17 felixfelicis

    I AM SO CONFUSED.

Literally, I opened the envelope and stared at the page like "THIS CAN NOT BE MY LEAVING CERT." I don't deserve this!

    Irish: B1
    English: A1
    History: A1
    French: A1
    Biology: A2
    Art: A2

    (And Ordinary Maths: A2)

    So... 565.

I really, really, REALLY didn't see that one coming. At all.

I don't know if I'm happy with my results and I repeated this but they did go up a lot but I'm still not happy. Ugh not sure what to do repeating again would be torture.
I'm currently thinking of a new career, I'm glad I passed maths though.

    Business : B2
    Physics : B1
    Biology : B1
    Geography : B3
    500 points on the dot.

And Ordinary Level Irish : B3

Really surprised with the English result and thought I did much worse at it considering I didn't do a poetry question , but I guess they bell curved the marking scheme for that paper. Quite pleased with the results overall , might get a few re-checked though.

    ok I'll do it :L

    Biology A1
    Chemistry A1
    German A1
    Irish A2
    Maths B1
    Applied Maths B1
    Physics B1
    English B1

so 585 with bonus maths points :) That was like the best I could hope for. I am a little disappointed with maths and English, I consistently got As in them all through school so it's a bit disappointing to get Bs when it counts.

but I'm ****ing delighted with chemistry and biology. And Irish! My teacher told me she thought I'd get a B, REALLY wanted an A after that just to prove her wrong. Absolutely shocked with applied maths, I was certain I wouldn't get above a C.

It's strange, I wasn't going to keep on chemistry and I wanted to drop to pass Irish and they're like two of my best subjects...while my favourite is my worst :(

But yeah I'm really happy, couldn't realistically have hoped for better :)

There isn't anything for the course I want. I want a IT business but there's only courses for separately . I don't know which computer course to apply for. There's only office course but thats not really the same.

Got my results today and am not one bit happy, I always studied but was never the type to do well in exams and am TERRIBLE at maths!
I was hoping to do Music, through arts in maynooth and now i'm devasted that I can't get my desired course....

    Irish: (H) C1
    English: (O) B2
    Maths: (O) F
    History: (O) C3
    French: (O) C2
    Biology: (H) F
    Music: (H) C1

So 225 points when I was looking for 380!!!

So can anyone tell what else can I do to get into this course or any course(music) without REPEATING the LC?? The only PLC i saw was music in BALLYFERMOT and i live in SANTRY so that's just too far to travel...... help need!! thanks

Trying applying for a plc closer to home, you will get placed on the waiting list might be awhile or... Repeat if you really need to, it actually not that bad if you are willing to do the work, but try ALL your option before looking to repeat ALLL... Its not that bad but you know

Well look there might be another way to get into the course! That's an ace Leaving Cert. all the same.

I missed my course by ten points. Was gutted and went and did another one. Loved it so much and would never go back. Things have an odd way of working out sometimes!

    Best of luck!

Anyone else dissapointed with the Irish result? I was destined for an A2 and only got a B2.Loads of my friends who are excellent at Irish only got B2's aswell.

On the other hand I got an A2 in English after only getting C's all year. Its a miracle.

    Irish: A2
    English:A2
    Maths:C1
    Chemistry:A1
    Biology:A1
    French:A1
    Music:A2

So 575.. incredibly happy. Most surprised by English considering I was caught out by Pleaney and wrote about three pages of crap on Kavanagh, was expecting something like a C1..not an A2.

Yes we were and we were right to be disappointed too!
Didn't get a single A1 for my Physics&Applied Maths teacher, strange seeing as I find Maths incredibly easy.

Sorry about how Maths went for you though, even though you knew it afterwards, at least you made it up in your other subjects.

You should, I got an A2 in French and I'm beyond shíte at it. Seriously, you'd walk me at it. It is possible though that I kept it so so simple that I made few mistakes.

Do you need more points for your first choice or is it more of a fúck you appeal?
