Chocolate rice cakes

    Hi just wanted to ask are these better for you than say Jaffa cakes etc I've a terrible sweet tooth and would love alternatives thanks guys

    of course they are, google the nutritional facts of both and line them up side by side you'll see what I mean.

    But if you're one of the many folk who don't eat one or two biscuits but rather the whole sleeve beware eating lots of the substitute is still almost as bad but a good stepping stone, portion control is key because even a coated rice cake is just white simple carbs with added sugar so its also a quick energy food which is bad.

    one coated rice cake once or twice a week it won't be the end of the world as long as the rest of your diet is nutritious.

    Personally I used to have a sweet tooth (and a carb one for that matter) but I found the best cure was just not eating it if having a really small amount is wrecking your head.

    EDIT: Nairns chocolate oat cakes (Dunnes/Tesco/HFshops) are individually wrapped in 6 packs you you can eat one pack over the course of a week rather than buying a big pack of something and most of them going stale, and they're really chocoalty.

    Camomile tea, hibuscus and spearmint, peppermint, fruity teas has helped me a lot by being my treat instead of snacks now.

    big time love them and have them most days (im more than a little bit active) with nut butters or butter
