Are you doing any specials like a cuppa and a bun for a special price after 2.30 pm etc?

Hi , appreciate the reply , at the moment the

special we do is our lunchtime special of soup and sandwich or filled roll for €7.95 , also some prices have been reduced since our opening. We will look at your suggestion of late afternoon specials , again many thanks

There is a centra down the road if that's more to your liking.
You pay 8 euro and believe me you'd be stuffed after it.

While not familiar with your new coffee shop, describing soup and a sandwich / filled roll for €7.95 as a special is unreal. To put it to you this way, you are charging the same or more for the same thing as many other coffee shops in bray, greystones, wicklow town, arklow, gorey etc. And yes, the one in particular i use, which leaves colleagues and i stuffed, do homemade soup of the day, filled roll and small side salad for €5.95 every day.

At €5 it would be fair to call it a special;)

Well, I really enjoyed going to the Copper Kettle, and I think that it's a shame that it's gone. I never noticed much of a delay while waiting for service, and found the staff always jolly and friendly, which can't have been easy in the lunchtime rush. The reason they closed was the very high rent on the building, surely the landlord could have come to some agreement on that. It's not going to be easy to re-let the place in these times. They also had a café in the National Garden Centre in Kilquade, I don't know if that has survived. I remember them when they started off in Tesco Greystones, and they were a very hardworking crew. There is a nice place there now, too, called Molly's Kitchen, I think. Now we need one in Kilcoole, for Newcastle folk, of which I am one.

The cafe in the Garden Centre was taken over by new management almost a year ago - has anyone tried it? Good food and good value!

Are the bakers that worked in the Copper Kettle now working in the Bread Basket ??
My other half is a connoisseur when it comes to Apple Tarts, he absolutely loves them and must have eaten thousands of different ones over the years. He still maintains that the one I bought him in the Copper Kettle was the best Apple Tart by far that he had ever eaten.

Folks I had banned torres1147 for 2 weeks for advertising. It seems though that this thread keeps attracting shilling. I'm closing it.

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
