    Hi there,

I am just wondering if there are any sufferers of hyperhydrosis. I suffer with this, and it is making my life miserable. Has anyone who has suffered with this got treatment? Or anything that has helped cure/minimise it? All feedback is greatly appreciated

    Thanks MC :)

Try Driclor, get it in Boots or other chemists probably.

Worked very well for someone I know.

It is facial for me. So frustrating. The link you sent is great, i signed up to receive updates and read other peoples stories, which is exactly what im looking for. I saw a girl who went on embarrassing bodies and she had a procedure to cut the sweat gland. I feel that having an operation for me is a bit much, id prefer maybe medication or something. Did you have it for long?

Have had this for years and it was my armpits that were the only culprit.
An unreal amount of sweat for reason. The doc said it was something to do with an overactive sympathetic gland.A product from the chemist called anhydrol forte fixed this overnight.Oh its cheap too

Get a referral from your GP and it won't cost you. It used to cost me a little bit until they moved the procedure to OPD, but I presume that depends on the hospital. I get it done in Tallaght approx. every 9 months, and it's bloody great! I tried the strong antiperspirant (Driclor, I think) before, but it burns like mad, not worth the hassle.

    edit

It was Anhydrol Forte that I used. It's really uncomfortable, certainly the first few times anyway.

Really, you got botox on a referral...wow, its something i never thought of. Does it hurt?:(

Yeah you can get it treated publicly.

It's a bit painful yeah, but it's superficial pain, the needle barely goes under your skin. But it goes on for a while, they inject you probably about 30 times in each armpit. Feels like pretty painful pinches.

They give you a local anesthetic cream that you can put on beforehand. If you're concerned about the pain then find out about this before the appointment. I think my first time I didn't know about it, they were expecting me to turn up with it already applied so it gets time to work.

I think one of my appointments I didn't bother with the cream... It didn't help an enormous amount anyway. The subsequent treatments don't last as long as the first one.

It's very effective, worth getting done. You could probably go about 5 months without antipersperant tbh! If you were so inclined :p
