Lamborghini's in Ireland?

Hi guys, do you know where one would go about buying a Lamborghini? I know there is some private dealers in Ireland but they're used and I'm looking for new models. I was at a dealer a couple of hours ago and I asked a lad there and told me you couldn't buy them in Ireland but it didn't exactly answer my question.

Thanks in advance (and please no questions on financial status or it being a "waste of money" I heard that song before)

Yeah that's a shame, the UK is the closest, was hoping not to take that route though.

It's not like buying a fridge, surely a trip to the uk wouldn't be out of order if youre spending lambo money?

The thing is, if you have to go to the UK to buy it, what's the story with getting it serviced and getting recalls done? I presume you want to keep the full service history on a machine like that.

    What you looking at ?

    Aventador is insane

VRT is why there are none here, who would pay it and have a car sitting on a forecourt waiting to be bought while competing with the many UK providers out there ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 73,545 ✭✭✭✭colm_mcm

If you're a dealer you don't pay vrt till you register it.

No Lambo dealers here or in the north, I know of 7-8 Irish reg'd Lambo's ranging from Countach's, Diablo's, Gallardo's and a Murcielago but if you're seriously looking into buying a Lambo do your reserach online, see which UK dealer has what in stock and book yourself a flight over to the UK to look at/test drive a large/varied selection of Lambo's because it simply cannot be done over here.

Keep in mind servicing/maintenance will require trips to the UK. Good luck in your search for the right car.

EDIT: Just noticed you're looking to order a new Lambo? UK is the only way to go. If you can afford a new Aventador then you can afford a Ryanair flight to Gatwick to sit down and go through the ordering process with the good folks at Lamborghini London.

To add to PrettyBoy's post, I don't know where you live or where you drive normally but also remember that Lambos are very wide cars so you may have problems on a lot of Irish roads.

I have a lovely Lamborghini (RC toy car) for sale if you're interested? I'm looking for a fiver but I'll take €4 at this stage, it's a tough market out there. PM if interested.

If the op is serious then onxy have a new aventador for sale -

However if you are serious i would advise to speak with uk dealers as they have a ton more experience with such cars and it is something which you should research in detail as you will need to have someone good service it. Good luck.

There's a dealer by South Ken tube in London (oh how I have coveted walking past - while trying to play it cool). I'm sure they will sort you out if serious.

Shur they're just another VAG these days, a remapped 1.9 thady with extra chicken wire, straight-thru zorst and a lambo door kit will have you all kitted out.

Only one lambo door kit, if I've learned nothing else from donedeal then its that only front seat passengers get to exit in shtyle.

If you can figure out how to get lambo doors on the back of a bora then work away.

Man, that is CLASSY. And I thought you couldn't get classier than lambo doors + normal doors on 4/5 door.

Hey Wolfpac, I'd post your post on octane.ie. There are a few exotic car owners there including very recent purchases from the UK, as far as I know their cars are flat bedded over to the UK for servicing.

There are only a few motor enthusiasts on this site.

Ah seriously, the fact that someone would come on a general forum in Ireland looking for advice on buying a Lambo suggests it's Walter Mitty stuff like the "bespoke ultra efficient electric space car as response to 6% increase in public transport prices" guy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,520 ✭✭✭Tea 1000

Yep, buy in UK and flatbed or drive it to the UK for servicing is your only option, unless you want to set up your own Lambo dealership, but I dare say that may not be profitable these days.
However, it might be worth bearing in mind that the VRT on an Aventador would cost about the same as a house in the UK, so maybe go that route and not worry about how to get it across the Irish sea for servicing!
Also, it it were me, there's only one way I'm going to buy my Aventador when my numbers come up... fly to Sant Agata and do the deal there, pick the colour scheme etc, and fly back when it's ready to collect. That's the proper car-nut way!

Edit: I can't believe Onyx have a Lambo for sale. They actually make enough money (from selling the worst body kits and alloys in the world to plebs who have money to waste) to buy one?

If there was a Lamborghini dealership in Ireland it would probably have to offer a 1.6l base model.

These guys always have a high end selection. Think they might be worth asking.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,863 ✭✭✭RobAMerc

the lads in Galway used to be quite good at sourcing high end cars - Cunningham Higgins - other than them try Charles Hurst in the North, I am pretty sure they could source you one. Lastly - contact Lamborghini themselves, if there are cars in Ireland I am sure they will tell you who sourced them.

Why not? Not everyone in the country is broke!

We cater to all sorts here from people that don't know how to change a tyre to serious enthusiasts. It's comments like yours and other begrudgery that deters supercar owners from posting on this forum.

Funxy Exige who is currently posting on the HWIST thread was almost hounded off the forum previously.

If the man wants and has the means to buy a Lamborghini fair play to him. Be nice - he might let you breath on it at a motors meet in the future.

(Not a personal dig by the way - more the pessimism that appears here from time to time ;))

still too large, unless they start making a 1.4 diesel with band A tax , nobody in Ireland will buy

ONYX over near Baldonnel bring them in to Ireland, they have an Aventador at the moment.

Not begrudging, just sceptical! Fair f**ks if he gets one but "custard proof" will be needed for me and several more I'd say.

Sorry, I don't buy it either. If you can afford to buy a Lamborghini, you can afford a PA with clue.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,575 ✭✭✭166man

Yep, maybe the cynic in me but someone with €300k to spend on a new lambo would have somebody to help buy and test drive etc. I think some 17 year old bored out of his rasher on his summer holidays is messing around but I could very well be wrong.

Fair play if the OP has that kind of money, I ain't begrudging anyone here. Custard proof will be necessary I reckon though.

To be bored out of one's rasher is just and expression in our family to show boredom, not sure where it came from or what you're talking about really.
