It's all subjective unfortunately but if you want one I'd go with John Cazale.

Six years is hardly a career. At that rate there must be hundreds of actors who have only been in a couple of films and no bad ones.

There are very few actors who haven't been in bad movies. Except for John Cazale as mentioned above, and that's only because he died quite young.

I'd say of recent actors, the best good-to-bad film ratio is probably Michael Fassbender.

Even if it was footage, he still 'appeared' in Godfather 3

He's been in good engaging roles in otherwise mediocre films in my opinion. I didn't really like 'There Will Be Blood' and wasn't overly fond of 'Gangs Of New York' but he's been cast very well in those films... if that makes any sense.

Clint Eastwood? Although his early 80s stuff, is probably his weakest, I don't know if any of his movies have been lemons.

I would have said Brad Pitt myself until I saw the Tree of Life (flameshield, I know some people really enjoyed that movie, but I did not).

No actor has an unblemished resume. Every film they take on is a risk the one who should be admired are the ones who take on challenging roles from time to time.

For example actors like Will Smith very rarely does a challenging role these days, looking at his imdb there MIB 3 was one his recent films and in the works he has Bad Boys 3, Hancock 2 and I Robot 2 ffs like.

Re: Pitt, I wasn't personally enamoured with the "Ocean's" movies, but they had their fans I guess. Happy Feet 2 though? That was cack :pac:

For a discussion like this you need to come up with a somewhat measurable definition of the term "bad".
Without that, the discussion is almost pointless.
Indeed a definition of a "bad" film would be good for many discussions on this forum.

I might get some flack for this but Terminator: Salvation was pretty good except for Bale. He was easily the worst thing in that film. He's also a crap Batman.

    Javier Bardem
No Country for Old men probably the weakest - though not because of him.

and Worthington was the best thing in that movie, and has become more crap since, I dont get it. Bale wasn't meant to have such a prominent role iirc and had it changed to beef up his part.

You know bad as in sh1te?! Like De Niro would be considered a great actor but hes been in some dire films like Midnight Run, Meet the Parents , Anthony Hopkins another Academy Award Winner who has made turkeys like Dracula and Mask of Zorro, etc. etc. The title of thread is fairly self explantory.

I can't believe you think Bale is crap as Batman. I don't think any other actor could play Mr Wayne.

If you go on subjective opinions, you will find those that really enjoyed those movies you mentioned and found then quiet "good"........
The title is self explanatory, but what is being discussed is as clear as mud.

(Look at recent threads on any new movies to see the differing of opinion among posters on movies)

He was terrible in Terminator Salvation the fact in the film I wanted a long with most people I know wanted Marcus Wright to live and John Connors to die says it all really. It was poor writing and Bale basically being the same character he is in Batman.

But to say hes a crap Batman is crazy, and he is an actor in general I really do like and has made some great films like American Pyscho, The Fighter, Rescue Dawn, 3:10 to Yuma he does have a very impressive cv.
