    Hi there,

Apologies in advance if this is in the wrong place, or (as I know) these question scream complete 'noob' but Google wasn't much avail to me. (and yes, I realise now I was very stupid. :( )

But the story is, since New Year, I said I was going to go off milk on its own, drinking it by the pint etc. I found it well and did see benefits I read about on websites and didn't feel lacking in anything.

But fast-forward to the 1st of August, I had a plan in place to help me bulk up (I'm a really underweight teenager, having real difficulty trying to gain weight). I had sasuages for breakfast, which were 3 days out of date in the fridge which I didn't know about at the time. I had 4 pints of milk throughout the day - my body was in complete shock by the end of the day. I ended up having a fever for about 2-3 days and only now I'm really getting over it.

So I was just wondering; was it the sausages that caused it or more likely the milk? But why would it have caused my body to such a shock? I still drank tea, had chocolate, the occasional yogurt.. and what does it mean?

Any help that could be given would be greatly appreciated, and again sorry for taking up your time with my silly post. :)

I'm sorry I'm not sure what you're asking, it sounds like you ate gone off sausages and got sick for a few days, now better.

You should consult your doctor or a nutritionist (be careful with online research but just use common sense and sources of authority where possible) to get an adequate plan for gaining weight in a healthy way as sausage is not a good meat nutritionally.

I would imagine that if you were ill it was due to eating out of date sausages ... The date is there for a reason you know!

    defo the sausages.

    Google the GOMAD diet.

Basically says drink a gallon of milk every day. EVERY DAY!

Few friends of mine did it when bulking up. Its got a nice blend of protein, carbs and fat so helped them bulk up. None of them ended up with a fever!!
