Hey guys, can anyone help me with some ballpark calorie numbers. Apologies if this all sounds noobish, I'm not trolling honestly!

My wife needs to lose the baby weight. She's 5 ft 8 and 11 stone. Her diet is in good enough order now generally speaking and knows what she should and shouldn't be eating.

Anyway, can anyone give a guideline as to how many calories a day she should be taking in through food and then how many she needs in deficit to have a healthy weekly loss in weight?

We have a treadmill in the house so she can exercise regularly.

    All help and advice appreciated.

well your wife isn't officially overweight so I'm assuming she wants to lose the weight for the purpose of appearances / getting back into her old clothes?

regarding her calorie intake, the stickies at the top of this forum give a formula to work out.

Yeah, that's exactly it. Just the baby belly has to go!

I missed link to calorie calculations first time round. Doh!

Anyway have idea of what needs to be done now.

    Thanks again.

Generally, bodyweight in lb x10-12 gives a good range for weight loss calories.

So in her case - 1,300-1,580 daily.

Keep in mind that's an accurately calculated 1,300 to 1,580. Most people don't do a great job. And aim to get in around 1.5g of protein per lb.
