NSMB2 Bonus in stores?

So, I asked this question in the Games section, no one cares....:(

Anyway, I have a voucher for Gamestop and only using it for NSMB2, what I'd like to know is, will they have any bonus for pre-ordering IN the shop?

No creditcard so online ordering will not be happening.

Whats the story with the Gold Mario Pin? Only online?

    Thanks

The gold coin is only available from game and gamestation, which are the same company, and pulled out of Ireland after almost going bankrupt.
So, yeah, only online if you care to deal with them.

the gold pin you're talking about is presumably this http://www.gamestop.com/nintendo-3ds/games/new-super-mario-bros-2/101480 which is an american/canadian-only bonus.
www.gamestop.ie is the irish website for gamestop.

My Canadian game shop has that gold pin for pre-orders. I have a European 3DS though so yay for download buying :D

Pre-ordered this on Amazon yesterday, it didn't say anything about a free gift.

I read that this has been the fastest selling 3DS game in Japan so far, so I really hope it'll be good. I got tired of SM3DL pretty quickly so I hope I enjoy this one more. The ultimate goal in the game is to collect a million coins! I'll be busy for months!

You get double points for poor free stuff on club nintendo if you buy nsmb2 on the eshop from 17th of August up to 4 weeks after, and I assume you get the points if you buy it before it's out on eshop too.

I may download it if there is a significant price difference, no store seems to even have any posters up for the game yet let alone any info on a free gift, dame you Nintendo Europe.

Didn't they say it was going to be priced the same? So it seemed to me like a bit of a no brainer to buy a physical copy.

In Japan, the eShop version was more expensive than retail.

    Then what's the point?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,485 ✭✭✭✭Banjo

Maybe the eShop version lets you play as Mario, Luigi and their long lost yellow-wearing brother Gianni? Or storage space in the home is at such a premium and bin charges in Japan are so significant that the idea of not having a cartridge or case taking up precious square inchage is worth paying for?

Has to be said though, not having to carry around all those carts and swap them around to access your game collection would be fantastic. My Pokemon Diamond cart packed up during the week due to excessive exposure to lint.

I do love having a selection of games on a console/flash cart to be able to carry around. However paying retail prices for a download game is not something I'm willing to do.

It would be great if Nintendo included an 'install to SD' option for their carts so you could have loads of games stored like that but still retail the originals.

Then again, I'd say that would probably be open to rampant piracy.

    Likewise here!
UK prices but it's listed as 40 pounds on the eshop, amazon doing it for 30 delivered...AND you get a box/manual/able to resell it/won't need multiple copies to share!
    :P

NintendoLife are quoting €50.88 (though that looks like a straight GBP->Euro conversion) as the Euro price. That's f'ing ridiculous, especially if you have no means of cashing the game in with them when you're done.

Given how that purchase will be tied to the console and it's a massive pain in the arse to get Nintendo to transfer an eShop account from one handset to another in the event of an issue that prevents you using system transfer, I wouldn't touch that with someone elses. I think they've really missed a trick on this, there's no incentive to use the online service, it's almost like they were forced to offer it as a distribution method but no one stipulated that the offering had to be reasonable.

In other news, they're removing Freaky Forms non-deluxe from the eShop to make way for it's big brother...

    Agreed!

And yeah the Freakyforms thing is a total rip! Barely anything new (100 new parts plus a basic rpg mode) and they're going from 7 euro for the normal edition to 25 pounds (32 euro approx) via the eshop for the deluxe edition (or 20 pounds on amazon!).

Really wonder what the person who came up with these ideas were thinking tbh! :P

Finally! Someone answered my original question here! :D

    Thanks RobbingBandit!

Yeah so, eshop NSMB2 looking like €45-€50 or a digital copy, what the hell ninty! make it €30 and you will sell a hell of a lot more copies.

Who are the people who work in Nintys online store? They need to FIRE these people and HIRE the people who run all other online stores for steam/xbox/PS etc to realise how to sell online.

Was on the eshop last night and was about to put €20 on there and buy some games (haven't bought anything since L.A. and Mario 1+2, a full year ago!), after looking through the mess that it is, I decided to buy nothing at all.

So Ninty lost out on €20 from me, nothing much to them at all, but I'm sure I am not the only one who has decided not to buy anything either after looking around on there and seeing one or two good 20/22 year old gray Gameboy games and a LOT of rubbish on there.

WHAT ARE THEY DOING!!!!!!! Really pisses me off, I have money Ninty, take it, you're making it hard for me to spend anything on the eshop!!!!

This just really frustrates me. I dont understand why they didn't just, on the first day, put up all of the Gameboy/Color/Advance back catalog up on the eshop, all there, waiting for people to buy it, I mean, they could have made millions out of it by now, and would continue to for the next 6 years too while adding NES/SNES/Gen etc :mad:

Sure rememeber when they announced the GBA? They said this system has over 1000 games for it already, all the GB/C games. they should have done this again!!!!!

    Rant/(again)

How much is MK7 in PC World/Currys on its own?

Is this offer on in Jervis?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,284 ✭✭✭RobertFoster

€20 on it's own. They don't stock games in the Jervis store. The promotion started over 2 weeks ago, so you might have a hard time finding the games you're looking for.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,485 ✭✭✭✭Banjo

Offer is in all Currys and PC Worlds but it's about 2-3 weeks old, so good luck finding both games in the same shop
    it's 20 for 1
    30 for 2
ramps up at 6 and 10 (for 100?) I think

There's a bin near the front of the store usually with the games for PS3, XBOX, Wii, DS and 3DS
    You can mix and match
I've seen WiiPlay Motion with the M+ controller in a few stores, Pokemon B/W, PilotWings, Skyward Sword, Mario 3DS, Mariokart 7 (rumours of DK Country Returns but not seen it myself) and a host of just dance/sing abba ****e to pad it out. Not seen it in any small inside-a-larger-MallCurrys (eg liffey valley and blanch), just the big stand alone out-of-town park ones (eg liffey valley and blanch). Also, where there's a Currys beside the PC World, they seem to be moving the last bits of stock into the PC Worlds.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,258 ✭✭✭✭DARK-KNIGHT

Jesus they had loads I got both in Naas Jervis have them apparently and blanch have a good selection behind the till in a little cupboard!!

Get to your local store and look I got mine by going and seeing offer in smyths then searching stores. Half the work is done for you a little effort by you and you will get a great deal!!

What more can I do?? ;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,485 ✭✭✭✭Banjo

There's a thread about it somewhere, either Currys have their own forum or it's in Games. Some guy called Declan from Currys was helping people out. Anyway, if you find it there's a customer service number you can call and ask them to check your local shop for stock of whatever game you want. If you find a spare DKC returns let me know :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,565 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

I don't understand how Smyths can do the offer. Like they sell the Mario Kart and 3D Land for €35 so they don't profit since that's the price they give you for them if trading against NSMB2.

Smyths are trying to get people buying software from them now and fair play to them as GameStop is an absolute kip since game closed they treat customers like dirt imo

Yep. Was just asking in my local store in Letterkenny and they said they do things like this. They also said they've done Play Trade or something where you can get the game and return it within 2 weeks for your money back minus €5. He was saying they'll probably do it around christmas again this year

I mean more so with the VC on the eshop, new full games on any online shop will always be overpriced:rolleyes:.

But sure I know I can buy hardcopies in some store and get some sort of money back from trading it back in somewhere. But at 3/4/5/6 euro for a gameboy that is 20+ years old and only 2/4hrs long? NOT ON!!

Anyway... NSMB2 tomorrow!!!! (its more expensive on the eshop than in stores I hear )
I know its gonna be kinda rubbish and just a rehash of NSMB1 but still looking forward!!!!:pac:
