    Is 26 to old to start rowing from scratch?

    Its always a sport ive wanted to try,I dont want to leave it to late!

    nope. you won't make elite boats for a while but there's certainly a load of novice eights etc that'll use you.

    Only if you think it is :D There are lots of different types of rowing clubs with different types of boats but still very competitive. There was some racing in Malahide last weekend they have quite a big club and might be worth dropping in to but I'm sure you will find a club near you that would be glad of a new member to blister up :D

    myself and my wife took up rowing at 39 and 43, respectively -currach rowing that is. Since then we have competed in 2 Ocean to City races and are going over to The Great River Race in September.
    It is a very social activity and great for keeping fit.
    As said, there are many types and levels of rowing - ours isn't terribly competitive, most of the time!
