Question about a fractured scaphoid

I'm just looking for some input from people who have maybe had the same type of injury! I hurt my wrist over 2 months ago. It was initially mistaken as a sprain as x-rays looked clear so it went relatively untreated. After a month of no recovery and still being in pain I went for an mri and they said I had a fractured scaphoid bone so I was referred to the fracture clinic and put in a cast for 3 weeks. Since last week I am in a steel splint bandage for a further 3 weeks. The problem is my thumb has become numb since this morning and loosening the splint/taking it off does not help, the numbness remains. Should I be concerned about this? Really don't want to deal with queuing in A&E if it's nothing to worry about but my next appointment isn't for two weeks so don't want to leave it either.

    Thanks :)

It could be nothing BUT you don't want to take the risk that the blood supply has been blocked! Get it seen to ASAP
