Living out of a hotel in a foreign country

    Hi,

Please can somebody help me. I'm in a foreign country for work & living in a hotel. I'm female and probably need to lose 1.5 stone. But I am worried I am eating all wrong here & arrive home like ton of bricks so main thing is not to gain in the next month. Its hard to gauge if i'm losing / gaining as my clothes are light summer clothes and could be misleading - I don' think I've put on weight but that could be dim lighting in hotel room!

I'm not usually a low-carb / meat fan but because I'm not sure what's in the bread etc i'm trying to keep it as pure as possible as nothing has nutritional value written on it.

B: plate of sliced fruit + 1 or 2 fried egg (omelette is only other option) + spoonful fried bacon pieces or matchbox size grilled cheese. I know this is fairly fatty but it seems only way to stop me starving & reaching for snacks before lunchtime

L: portion sliced fruit + salad greens + 2 small portions roast chicken / pork / beef (a portion being a slice from the buffet)

D : grilled chicken / stirfried beef + vegetable salad topped with sprinkle cheese. fruit plate for dessert sometimes.

i'm doing weights 3 or 4 times a week in gym and running 30 - 40 mins 2 other days . Not snacking or deviating at all from the above except for a few black coffees during the day + lots of water. Other than that I'm drinking wine approx one night p/week and usually end up having dinner of fried finger food with it in the pub.

I know its all fatty but the food here really is crappy healthwise, the bread is packed full of sugar & everything seems to be deepfried so this seemed best option.

I am wondering if the portions are too big or if I'm overdoing calories; its not how I usually eat because i used be veggie & eat a low-fat carb heavy diet so i'm feeling fairly clueless.

For a hotel setup where you have no control over what's in the food, I think you're probably doing ok. One thing I find good at buffet type places is to hit the salad/veg first and two-thirds fill my plate with that. Next meat (what you're having seems ok). Then try to skip chips, pasta etc. Even if you can't resist, you should have feck all room left on your plate by they time you get there.
