should I wait or bring the appointment forward?

    Hi

I had a root canal done 4 years ago on a top high tooth. No trouble until last october when I started feeling a dull ache that would come and go, sometimes it was mild discomfort, sometimes it was a throbing pain. My dentist was adamant it was either a clenching problem or sinusitis, but eventually agreed to take an X Ray after my 3rd visit. It revealed a large dark area at the top of the root, which indicated an infection. She referred me to an endodentist who redid the root canal treatment. The relief was immediate. That was in February.

I have a check up appointment in a month time but for a few weeks have been feeling that same dull ache, sometimes very discreet, sometimes a throbing pain, mostly when I drink hot tea. No pain at night, no pain when I chew. The only difference with the previous time is that I can't exactly pin point the tooth that's giving me trouble, so I am not sure it's the high tooth again. As I was home abroad 2 weeks ago, I decided to visit my dentist there and he took Xrays, tapped each tooth, tested them one by one with a cold gas, but he found absolutely nothing. He could see the dark shade at the top of the root but it was only the remaining of it, it had receeded a lot and he didn't think it was the cause of the pain. His suggestion was that if there was a nerve slowly dying, it would become apparent after a while.

So there comes my question: should I wait until the end of next month for my appointment and increase the chances of finding something or would it be better to bring the appointment forward in case there is something that might get worse if I wait?

    Thanks

The very definition of a Catch 22....
Whichever option you're more comfortable with personally; the situation could go any number of ways tbh.
    Definitely see a dentist though.
