Is there anywhere I can watch it in full later today? I don't really want to come back here in case of spoilers, so if so, could someone PM me a link please. :)

    Ever heard of YouTube?!

About the show, it was nice to see some old faces for the night but damn, majority of scenes were korny as f*ck..real cringing stuff. I thought the show was poorly booked..

Oh, and Undertaker can never be taken seriously ever again..

Nice ending, another summer of Punk?

When WWE kept going on about Punks lenghty title reign, Big Show talking about it being Cena's title I was hoping ot would lead to Cena not winning the title.

I also liked how Punk stopping Rock stealing the spotlight fits nicely in with his comments from the previous 12 months and with Eve talking about him being overshadowed by AJ. He wasn't going to let Rock waltz in and steal the spotlight when Punk is WWE champion.

(actually a Punk and Eve combo could be great - HHH and Steph or Edge and Lita for 2012)

WWE didn't have the guts to turn Cena but I will settle for Punk. Punk as a heel and at the top of the card as is badly needed and with his look etc makes more sense.

Probably the best show WWE could have done realistically. Went by quicker than most 3 hour Raws. Not only it had some nice nostaglia but built things for the future top angles wise. The wedding and especially Vince's input seemed to miss a line or two of explanation/exposition. While the Punk turn was a very strong one.

    The Dark Punk Rises :p

Great show only bad points was Christian losing the IC title to Miz and no SCSA or Edge :(

    Source
After Raw went off the air tonight, The Rock finally got to his feet and continued his attack on Big Show. He took one of John Cena's armbands off Cena, put it on, and eventually hit the People's Elbow on Show.
The Rock then grabbed the mic, thanked everyone for coming out to celebratre Raw 1,000, and that's how the evening ended.

Twas a pity there was no Stone Cold, Edge or Ric Flair appearance, but Punks turn was great, very unexpected for me at least, but you could see it coming once he didnt make the save when Show first came down to beat up Cena.

The Wedding was a very entertaining segment.

Glad Miz got the IC Title, he deserves a title and push IMO, and christian has lost all momentum that he had a year ago when he won the WHC, and had gotten a bit dull.

    Decent show overall.

    Really enjoyed that.

Never thought Cena would be the first person to cash unsuccessfully (even if they can continue to say that all the cash ins have resulted in a win; smart WWE). Heel Punk is desperately needed, but he's still going to get cheered by the older generations.

Lots of great nostalgia moments. Lita and Steph looking amazing. DX awesomeness. Rock vs Punk is a dream match and I can't wait. Just a fun, fun show.

Super tired so I am not remembering everything. But as someone who read newsletters in the early to mid 00s I had a massive nerd horn seeing Stephanie and Heyman go at it. As they hated each other from day one when Paul joined WWE in 2001. Everything from Heyman calling her a c*nt in a creative meeting, Heyman listening in on the Raw's Creative team's conference call & getting caught to as a rib Vince I think decide to have their offices next door to each other at Titan towers. Just absolute oil and water personality wise. Along with Heyman resenting Stephanie as the heir to the great Vince McMahon.

Good show overall, but could have been much better, a few of the segments went on for too long.

    Pros:
Full DX Reunion (minus chyna for obvious reasons)

    Sandow Interruption

Miz as IC Champ and the match in general

Cena wasted his money in the bank contract (Hurrah!)

Punk Heel turn, super turn (I just pray he doesn't align himself with Big show)

    Hand all grown up

    Bradshaws Clothesline

    Stephanie looked sexy as feck

    Cons:
Charlie Sheen/Daniel Bryan, im guessing sheen wont be cleared to wrestle, so it will probably be Bryan vs ? w/ Sheen, probably a returning legend. But really, is Charlie Sheen even relevant any more?

AJ as GM (curious as to how this play out or how long it will last, but right now i'm not liking it, character is a bit stale)

More Cena/Big Show snorefest (this is a terrible angle)

Didn't like how the Trips/Bork segment played out, but thats just personal preference

I think the next few weeks of Raw will be great. There was a lot of stuff taking up time tonight that definitely won't be part of the normal card the next few weeks, So It will be interesting to see what they can REALLY do with that extra hour.

That was a blast, enjoyed the hell out of it.

Some vote of confidence in Punk as well, with all the star power on show last night, he was the one that stood tall at the end with all the focus on him now next week.

The way I see the Rumble going is Rock to beat Punk, then retain at No Way Out (the February PPV, not sure what they'll call it noe) so Rock is champ at WM. Cena to win the Rumble match setting up Cena vs Rock, the rematch at WM. I reckon Cena will win that setting up a best of 3 style scenario.

Maybe Punk vs Austin at WM as well, a face Punk could never have faced Austin, now it's the heel "thou shalt not drink" versus Austin.

Big Slow has to go, I mean I'm disliking him but not in a "damn that heel" way, but more in a "wtf is man-bear-pig doing in the ring again?" kinda way.

i missed the end and the video on youtube said "heel turn" and i was hoping it'd be Cena so Punk was a bit of a letdown. i don't see him being a full-fledged heel like last time, more of a tweener since the fans will still cheer for him even if he did attack The Rock

it was a fun enough show anyway even if everyone couldn't make it to the card. that backstage segment with Mae Young and her "son" has to get an award or something

If you remember his heel turn with Hardy, it did take about 2-3 months, a lovely slow heel turn :)

Loved it but the crowd was a big let down at times. The brothers of destruction were staring each other down and they were quiet ffs.

    My favourites:

Sandow saying 'That's rude!' to DX.

    The hand.

APA return and Bradshaw killing Slater with that clothesline.

Bro's of destruction kicking ass once again.

    Punk heel turn.

    Least favourites:

I just wasn't into brock/triple h but steph looked deadly.

JR only commentating on one match.

    No Austin.

    Favourite Moments:

    The FULL DX Reunion
Moving further into the Ziggler-Y2J Feud
Brodus Clay dancing With Dude Love (Should have also used Rikishi)
    Mae Young's Hand
    Miz Wins the IC Title
    Steph arguing with Paul Heyman
    LITA and the APA!
Brothers of Destruction DESTROY the Mid Card Mafia
    CM Punk heel turn!

    Least Favourite Moments:
    AJ Becomes GM
Charlie Sheen Vs. Daniel Bryan Danielson basically announced for Summerslam
Brock Running from Trip (He's supposed to be the Big Bad MMA fighter)
    No SCSA!

All in all a very good show, but could have been better!

    Alsolutely horrible
The AJ booking is annoying me slightly as it makes no sense whatsoever and I hope she isn't going to be horribly invasive in the majority of storylines now. Was hoping for a Dean Ambrose debut as well but I guess that will have to wait. Not sure what to think of Punk, I hope he goes back to being the pissed off anti-hero last year as opposed to a stereotypical chicken**** heel champ. I suppose I'm looking forward to where it will go.

Found the DX stuff horrible to be honest, old men acting like that isn't nostalgic it's just embarrassing in my opinion! Sandow was awesome though, he looks like Zeus!

In fact, best moment was probably Miz winning IC belt, he looked genuinely humbled and I for one look forward to a face turn that seems to have started. Miz is awesome!

Typical Jericho nonsense as well saying on Twitter that he would be the one remembered from Raw 1000 or whatever!

I personally enjoyed last nights Raw for my own reasons and preference, much like everyone else. I thought it was great to finally see the more well known version of DX back together. I think it's silly of people to expect DX to not act the way they do these days and not like they did in the 90's. People seem to forget that HBK is a different man with regards to his views on certain things these days with regards to his religion, as in very different!!

I thought it was excellent that Miz became Intercontinental Champion, a title change of some sort was definitely needed for this show in particular.

Like many old-schoolers, I thought Mae Young's hand-son was hilarious, you could even hear Lawler and Cole having to hold in their laughter (Seemed genuine anyway).

Keeping in touch with classic scenes from years ago, I actually thought it was funny to see Trish and HHH reverse the roles in the backstage scene.

Seeing so many legends in one night, that was fantastic. In particular, the APA and Lita. The mark in me went absolutely wild when those arrived.

I feel Taker and Kane suffered, for two reasons. The evil phantom hood that tried to eat Taker's head, and of course, the lack of reaction from that "Crowd".

And of course, Punk's heel turn. I thought that was fantastic, and I know I speak for many in saying that this is the Punk we've been waiting for, I know at least I have.

I feel the only setbacks of the show were the fact that JR only called one match, but mostly, the crowd.

I think this show would have impressed considerably larger amounts more had they held it in the likes of New York or Chicago, they are for sure the most rowdiest crowds for the WWE shows.

Can you imagine the reaction to Punk's heel turn in one of those places? In particular Chicago?? Wow!!

Anyway, I personally enjoyed the show. I'm curious to see what they do with the AJ/GM angle and how Punk progresses.

Just rewatched the opening montage of Raw's best bits.....you know, for all the bad parts, I wouldn't give up my 25 years of being a WWE fan for the world.

Also, anyone notice this guy was in the crowd last night, hard camera side beside the entrance ramp...

    552902008_crop_340x234.gif?1333489759

When I saw him and Sign Guy and a few others, I thought they were going to do a segment where they showed the "best" fans in Raw history (Lesnar guy, Miz Girl, Crying Cena fangirl, etc). But alas, not to be :(

EDIT: looking on Google, the guy pops up at many WWE events...

I thought it was a brilliant show overall:

    Pros:

The re-uniting of DX (minus Chyna and Tori obviously)
    Mae Young/giant hand segment
Danielson stealing the show in the segment with The Rock and Punk
    Heyman being Heyman.
    Lita's still awesome boobage
    Steph's milfyness
Ryder,Cena and Okerlund discussing who was behind GTV
    Punk's heel turn

    Cons:

AJ being named GM instead of Ted Turner
Lita not wearing her trademark thong anymore
No Steve Blackman,Hardcore Holly or Godfather
Triple H looking a bit too strong against Brock for my liking.
The crowd's shítness for Taker/Kane jobber beatdown
    Charlie Sheen
    JR calling only one match

Litas ass still looked amazing - regardless of thong or no thong!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,774 ✭✭✭Big Daddy Cool

apart from the end and Miz winning the IC Title, i felt really flat by this show to be honest, no Austin was a big letdown and Lita been the last legend to finish slater was so dissapointing, surely Goldberg or even HTM could've been brought back for 1 night just to finish the angle, on the plus side she did look very well, and is there anybody better then The Rock at selling moves, his selling of Punks clothesline and GTS really made the segment for me and its great to have heel Punk back

on a seperate note, how good did X-Pac look and sound, surely a couple more runs left in him. :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,468 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

i must say I expected a lot of things to happen...but i did not expect Cena, on the 1000th Raw, to be an afterthought.

    kudos to WWE, genuinely.

quite honestly, the stars of this show were Bryan, Punk, Rock and Heyman.

I personally didn't like the Steph/Heyman interaction, it was kind of one sided. She got in a few sharp barbs while all Heyman got to say in response was what princess wants princess gets or something.

I was expecting someone a little bigger than Lita and the APA to take on Slater.

I'm on the fence in regards to Punk's turn, looks like they're gonna give him an insecure "I demand the spotlight!" schtick.

Cringe moments galore too with Sheen, Waltman putting his arm around Trish and The Rock referring to D-Bry as an oompa loompa and Frodo.

I have to say, I wasn't all that impressed.

Last night a PPV feel to it! Just like a GOOD PPV there's questions hanging in the air!

-What is Punk going to say next week?
-How is AJ going to cope as RAW GM?
-Will the Rock be looking for revenge on Punk!

For once I'm actually looking forward to RAW next week!

Overall I thought it was a very enjoyable show.

I LOVED the Stephanie/Heyman segment, based purely on the legit hatred between the two and I think it added a nice edge to the Brock/HHH match.

Not a huge fan of how HHH managed to get the upper hand on Brock, would've preferred the locker room to empty with DX and some other legends to pull them apart.

It was great to see the APA in action and Slater sold the clothesline perfectly, you could even tell Bradshaw was a little impressed.

Loved the Undertaker return too, the new attire looks great! For a second I expected him to arrive with some Ministry members.

AJ as GM is certainly interesting, I'm intrigued for now at least.

Looks like Punk is set to have another good summer ahead, should be great. The Rock looked great too in selling the moves.

I hope that Slater keeps wrestling a legend every week, was really hoping for Steve Blackman!

It was a shame that Edge or Austin weren't there but I'm sure it's not due to a lack of invitation, I guess they're both busy with other projects. Plus they can be saved for future Raws, the 3 hour shows won't fill themselves!

I'm a little more shocked we didn't at least get a cameo from the likes of Too Cool, Gangrel, Godfather etc as from what I'd read, tonnes of names were booked so I wonder if there were any who were backstage but not used.

also, Rock looked in phenomenal ring shape.

he seemed far leaner compared to at WM where he seemed a bit on the heavy side.

i don't think he'd have run that fast then, and i don't think he had near the same snap on his punches or bounce on his selling as he did last either.

it bodes well for Rumble and WM if he stays in that sort of shape.

I was expecting someone a little bigger than Lita and the APA to take on Slater.

I was quite happy with Lita's size. :D Knew she wouldn't be doing too many moves in that top. But Her, Steph, Trish, AJ and Layla all looked great. Too bad they didn't carry on th the Layla groping since she was in that small room with AJ. :P Ah, in my dreams. Though I do think Steph, Lita and Trish need to do a non PG era photoshoot to celebrate the 1000th episode.

Did laugh at that segment, not just for the hand, but also because Layla acted like she could see Little Hitler Jimmy while it was AJ saying he wasn't real.

I wonder what they'll do with Slater now. Hope they don't just bury him. As soon as Lita said she hired some protection(which was quick since she only just answered an open challenge) I said APA.

Was that the first time Steph and HHH appeared on tv as real life husband and wife? I know they were storyline married and I think HHH got revenge for something about Stephanie before. Then there was the line from HHH/DX when Steph was pregnant about who's the lucky guy that did that.

During the Orton feud was probably the first time. They've been on a few times since. There wasnt any big reveal as everyone already knew, they just sort of admitted it and didnt make a big deal about it.

Yeah I did remember previously that HHH came out and said something like "As many of you know..." but wasn't sure that they were ever in the ring together. Though now I think of it, that feud also got Vince and Shane involved, if I remember correctly.

That was the first on-screen confirmation; before that, HHH and his buddies would make inside references and jokes.

My favorite was when they did a seg together and HHH said "See you at home!" and then corrected himself with "Oh! I mean....your brother's a gnome!" That was as close as the confirmations came pre the Orton feud where they actively started promoting the marrage....
