Which Health plan would suit me??

    Hi, I know this might be in the wrong area but of a mod could direct it to the right one Id appreciate it .

    Basically Im renewing my health cover. I just spent some time in a public hospital recently and it was very painful. Im looking for a plan that would have good hospital cover.

    I have Chrons and i know Im going to need some procedures soon and will need to stay in hospital.

    I just spent the afternoon comparing plans on line and im more confused than ever.

    Can anyone recommend a good plan that might suit me or know of a plan that has good hospital cover .

    All help would be appreciated.

    Im currently with VHI on a One Plan.

    Hi Gusgus,
    I am going to try and help you find the cover your looking for. I need to ask you a few questions first?
    Which plan have you with vhi is it a one plan access (plan a) or is it one plan access plus?
    How long have you had health insurance?
    Do you want your a health insurance to cover you for a stay in a semi private room in a private hospital ie St Vincents private hospital or a semi private room in a high tech hospital ie Blackrock clinic?
    Are you willing to pay an excess for each hospital visit ie €50 or €150?
    How much are you willing to pay for health insurance?
    Also you need to be aware that you can upgrade your cover at your renewal date but with a pre existing condition you could have to wait a few years before you can benefit from the extra cover.
