Mercruiser parts

Hi all, I purchased a project boat this week, it's a 1995 Maxum 2300SC with a 5.7 v8 Mercruiser with an Alpha One drive. Now the engine is in a fairly bad state of repair and I might be needing lots of parts or possibly even a replacement. Can anyone recommend someplace to source parts? Thanks in advance YB

Hi Yawlboy I have just finished rebuilding a V8 mercruiser and got all the parts except for the chrome:D from http://www.marineparts.ie/engine-parts/mercruiser/ You could also try Galway bay marine works LTD on 0858071479 or marine motors cork http://marinemotorscork.com/Inboard_Engines/index.shtml ,CHMarine http://www.chmarine.com/acatalog/Boatyards_Ireland.html and Wexford boats http://wexfordboats.com/
Do a compression test first to see if you have a good block to start with and work from there.
