BUYING A CAR FROM BRITAIN

Hi just wondering if anyone has advice on doing this. Beginning to think I could get more bang for my buck over there, even by the time I have VRT paid on a car.

To be more precise, looking at a few 09 Passats, at around the £6500 mark. All with mileage sub 80000, & diesel. Given my budget would scrap to around 10500 at a push, it seems the car I could get over there would be a fair bit cheaper than its equivalent here.

So if anyone had any advice or experience of good garages over and getting the car checked, I would appreciate it!

Good points are you can get a better specced car for cheaper than what you can buy here. Although the exchange rate is currently eating into this..

    Bad points? Warranty/Repairs etc.
Read the below thread to see the hassle one of my mates went through...granted it's BMW but it can just as easily be any other car.
Saying that..this was his 4th import and the first time he ever had any trouble so it's worth weighing up the pros and cons and picking one.
