    Hi

I currently have a Garmin Nuvi 300(which is discontinued). I used it for the first time in ages last week. Charged it for 24 hours(almost), but only got about an hour and a half use out of it on the journey I took.

I think it may be knackered??

I'm looking to get a new Sat Nav.....can anyone recommend one? It's got to to have good battery life, easy to use, easily portable.

Also, I know I had this in a thread years ago, but I'll post it again:

Can anyone recommend one that can possibly be
attached to the air vents in the car, or maybe a decent length dashboard mount kit? I need this as I am a person with a disability and cannot reach to the furthest part of the car windscreen.

    T.I.A

I don't think you will get a whole lot more than two hours out of any car satnav on full display. They are really designed to be constantly charged by a car in normal use. Try reducing the brightness a bit.

You can get portable charging devices that you can use to charge anything on the go (eg your phone, mp3 player, satnav)

If you want to but a new satnav I recommend a garmin that comes complete with lifetime maps.
Have a look here: http://www.mysatnav.ie/ and inquire about battery life and airvent/other mounts.

there was a youtube vid giving a step by step guide on how to do it, and the battery came with the screwdriver, and plastic shim to open up the sat nav

I went and bought a Garmin nuvi 40 LM Western Europe edition with free lifetime maps. Got it in Halfords.
