High Pitched Noise from Amp

    Hi all,

    I have a Fender Blues Deluxe Reissue amp, when I plugged it in at a gig lastnight there was a faint (but loud enough to hear) high pitched screeching noise from the amp.

    I disconnected my guitar from it but the noise is still there so its defo the amp itself.

    Is it most likely a blown tube or what could it be?

    That sounds like it could be a tube on the way out. I had a similar problem before and a retube sorted it out.

    Good man - thanks. I should probably bring it to a repair shop because I've never done any work on it before. Is it generally an expensive job for a retube?

    Retubing an amp is actually pretty easy but if you're not sure it's best to bring it to a tech. Tubes aren't too expensive either but it depends on the tubes and how many you need for the amp.
