Was doing the usual Saturday shopping thing and was walking by a Holland & Barrett and they're doing a promotion/sale on Precision Engineered Whey Protein. It's reduced from €49.99 to €22.99 for a 1kg tub. I don't know if it's any good or not, but it's still cheaper than what I normally get - just in case anyone might be interested to get some.

I think a tub of 2.27kg protein is in around 40-55euro depending on the brand and where you get it etc etc.

at 23 euro for 1kg its comes in around the same price 2.27kg i reckon

Just read a report recently about heavy metals found in whey.

    http://jimmysmithtraining.com/six-pack-diet/heavy-metal-in-popular-protein-powders

Now thats not so say that the Holland and Barrett is contaminated.
But I won't be taking any chances when it comes to whey in future.

I just picked up a barrell of this stuff in strawberry and I can tell you that it tastes very similar to strawberry Angel Delight. :) Very sweet, none of that dirt-like flavor normally found with most protein shakes (at least, in my experience). I've only had it mixed with water but I'm sure mixed with milk it's quite nice.
Also got it for €22 as up until now, I was paying €30 a WEEK for 2 packs of supplements in Motivation. Complete rip-off merchents, if you ask me.

    Nice!

I used to get whey from myprotein but since they introduced prices in euro for Ireland it doesnt work out that cheap anymore.

You can pick up a 2.27kg tub of Kinetica for around €40-45 these days. Good brand

It's still cheaper per kg than the H&B stuff though, even at the sale price of €22.99. A 5kg bag of flavoured impact whey is just over €80 on myprotein.

If you do get the H&B stuff avoid the banana flavour at all costs, absolutely vile. The vanilla and strawberry is nice though.

Good point, BUT I don't have the luxury of being able to fork out €80 in one go. Buying it this way is just more feasible for me.

Oh, nice one!! I was just about to get the banana flavour and changed my mind to strawberry. I'm glad I did now, cheers!

Just had my second shake of the day, made with milk. Definately nicer than having it made with water. It'll be interesting to see if it makes any difference in taste when mixed with low-fat natural yogurt...

5kg for 60€ of unflavoured Whey last time I bought off them!
It's gone up 7€ again by the looks of things though! Still better value then most!

Picked this up this morning for that price...

Very surprised to open it,,,and find the tub only half-full...

What a scam....Won't be going back there again.

I tried H&B protein once and only once. Was so gross and shit that I just left it in the press and ordered stuff from MP.

    Ah weigh it?!

    1300g in the container..

So,I'm presuming around the 908g mark on it's own..

Waste of a big container.. Ah well....

just bought Optimum Health Ultimate Whey Protein from discountsuppliments.co.uk 2.25kg was €30 shipped to door. (today only )
hope its nice - I normally go for MP non flavoured with a flavouring so I can mix them up/ change flav strength, I'd never touch the H&B stuff again it's muck

Bought another tub last week , the taste in comparison to the first is abysmal . Plus mixing with water - forget about it . Have a friend that uses optimum nutrition - will be using that instead
