If I'm understanding correctly by what you mean by Public waiting list, then there is if you meet the medical criteria. Consult your doctor and he'll inform you,

For the cost of private, I've no idea. I've heard some good things about River Medical in Dublin. They give free consultations where you meet a surgeon and talk in detail of the procedure, but I'm sure if you called them they could give you a rough price.

I don't know if breast reduction is even available on the public system. You should talk to your GP to see what options are open to you and if it is available on the public system, then what the waitung lists are like.

Id imagine that there'd be little if any waiting list on the private system.

I'd suggest that you do a lot of research. There are lots of possible side effects, including possibly not being able to breastfeed afterwards.

    Good luck :)

Just one thing to think about....have you finished having children or even started? This will more than likely negate any breast reduction you have. My friend had one done and then went on to go back to square one when she got unexpectedly pregnant again. Don't mean to put a spanner in the works for you but just bear it in mind. Good luck:)

One of my best friends paid 5k in a well known private hospital. Went from a H to a D cup. Nearly died when the blood vessels on one side weren't sealed properly, bled into her lungs. Was rushed into a nearby public hospital in the middle of the night. Saved her life.

Think carefully, it's one of the riskier "cosmetic" procedures. She said it was the best decision she made, for quality of life, but the worst for risking her life.

i had one Jan 2012, on the public list, waited about 1 and half for the appt to see the consultant and from then was put on the list (once you dont have weight to lose) that was march and by Jan the next year i was done and dusted.

never regretted it!! its a major operation, i didnt know really till it was done so think carefully about it, and ive lost feeling in them, they are pros and cons but to me it was worth it.

    Good luck
