I've heard Pearson's name mentioned a few times.

It's been announced that its Ross Pearson who is moving back up to 155 for the fight.

thats pretty cool. Think it'll be an interesting match up. Not long now then until we have a possible list of guys that are in the house filtering through

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 221 ✭✭moongoose

bit surprised as thought ebersole or hunt could of gotten a nice bit of exposure from this.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 157 ✭✭Ray von

Neither are big characters so its a bit surprising they did not go for Ebersole.

Looking forward to seeing who makes the show.

For the fight itself if Sotiropoulos can't take him down he could lose this vey much like the Siver fight. But i don't think Pearson has the takedown defence of Siver so i think Sotiropoulos will beat him.

They usually go for a coach from that country and Ebersole is American and Hunt is from New Zealand.

hunt lives in sydney & ebersole trains in melborne & thailand

boring, wish it was Ebersole so we could see him teach his team his cartwheel kick

i think its good that the americans arent involved, the quality has been on a serious decline, im sure we'll get a few new decent fighters from this serious

To be fair, the recent TUF Brazil was considered one of the worst series ever, by most accounts.

Also, Carwin and Nelson confirmed for TUF in America, airing September.

The fights to get into the house were great. Almost every other fight after that was terrible.

By post from earlier in the year.
Anybody know if it will be filmed in Oz, UK or Vegas?
    Mellor wrote: »
I'd say Kyle Noke is likely. Which means Bisping is the obvious match-up.
Outside of those, you've George Sots, which would suggest Ross Pearson as a LW match-up. I'd prefer that over noke bisping again tbh.

Or, comedy factor, you'd have welterweights Hardy and Ebersole. But I think thats unlikely.

Well as far as I know Soto lives in America so it looks like they were looking for a native. It was him or Anthony Perosh. An outsider bet for Paul Daley to be UK coach? Hunt would have been a decent choice if he lives down that way but seen as they're doing the Heavyweights in the US maybe they wanted something different.

    Yep.

Two fighters coming off of bad KO losses. Both mid-tier at best, I'll watch the first episode and if the fights aren't entertaining I'll prolly be not that bothered.

If a "local" guy was in Sydney, there's plenty of irish lads at our gym glad to have him drop by ;)

Norman Parks is a cert to be on it, his facebook page has been deleted so its likely that he is on it..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,900 ✭✭✭✭Mellor

I understood thats what John was implying above with the CC Champ comment, considering the weight divisions. Plus Norman announced here he was trying out.

For the record, you were right not to believe him John.
The line up was announced by the UFC today ;)
This is the final line up of 16, so I suppose he's officially the first irishman in the house (there's been 2 or 3 as far as last 32)

LOL :) He was still telling porkies this week that he wasn't in. TBH one of the other LW's manager had told me Norman was there in the house with his fighter.

Oddly though Norman has been named on BJPENN.com as being in the World Series of Fighting too (LINK)

Should be interesting, hopefully the sparks will fly when the Aussies and the Poms go at it :D I see their is a guy from Bushmills, Antrim called Norman Parke on the UK team, what's the story on him ?

It's on ESPN, Ross Pearson is coaching the Poms and George Sotiropoulos the Aussies. http://tv.espn.co.uk/ei/espl/sports-on-espn/mixed-martial-arts/the-ultimate-fighter-tuf/

Really good fighter. He posts on here sometimes.
I'm sure that's who everyone on here will be rooting for. I know I will be anyway.
I wish him the best of luck.
Looking forward to this. Hopefully it'll be better than the last couple of seasons.

If you take out Parke, I wouldn't even be bothered to watch this TBH.

But the fact Norman is in there, i won't be missing an episode!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,900 ✭✭✭✭Mellor

One of the Aussies is quite A good fighter. Richie Vaculik. He's a Bra Boy for anyone familiar with that documentary.
And I've been told that two others on the Aussie team, Ben Alloway and Manny Rodrigez have a long standing feud. Hopefully it makes it interesting.

    (ps There's another thread already)

Parke is one of the few guys in Ireland with a decent wrestling pedigree

    Good all round fighter.

Hope he goes all the way

It should be available on the UFC website in most countries. I can't confirm as its wint wirk in Oz due to the tv deal.

    Try UFC.com, AU.TUF.tv, Youtube.com/UFC and Hulu.com
I think they'll all have it for free.

The standard looks good. Except I do r know what to make of the freakshow!!!
