I am currently out of work and on a very tight budget. I have money coming due to a house being sold, but not for 2 months.
I am overweight and live alone. Over the last week I have cooked peeled potatoes in the bottom tier, peeled carrots above and white cabbage on the top, for 40 mins and its gorgous.
Apart from coffee and water this is all I eat daily. I have started to walk for 45 mins daily too. Will I lose weight ? I never feel hungry. ? Is this Ok ?

    No, it is not ok.

You are starving yourself. This is counterproductive to any weight loss you wish to achieve.

All you eat in the day is veg? I'm sorry but what you are doing is dangerous and so so unhealthy.

You should eat 3 meals a day, more protein than carbs and cut out all processed foods.

I'm actually shocked at that diet. It's pathetic.

Ok, Well Thanks for that. I will start again today with 3 meals a day.

A good start would be to read the stickied threads at the top of this forum.

Post up your stats like age, weight, current diet. That gives people something to work off. There is NO one fits all diet. You have got to do soemthing that you can maintan for your WHOLE life, and you cannot do that with only veg. Sometimes common sense will make us see the light!

I didn't mean to be harsh, but it's out of concern for your health that I may have seemed a bit critical.

You need to have a good source of protein, like meat/chicken in there(if you're not a vegetarian). Stuff like eggs for breakfast, meat/veg etc. for dinner, and then your choice of something for tea/lunch like tuna roll(pitta bread for you perhaps?) and then have some fruit and healthy snacks in between.

I'm no expert, so read the stickies.

If you're short on money, get yourself down to Lidl or Aldi. You badly need some protein in that diet. Good stuff that's cheap:

    Big trays of eggs
    Chicken drumsticks/thighs
Greek yoghurt (big tubs of 4/5 portions)
    Porridge oats
    Milk
They have different fruit & veg on offer every week
Stewing beef (cook long and slow)
    tins of mixed beans/chickpeas
Ham fillets (might seem pricier but they will last a week in fridge once cooked)
    Tins of tuna
Use their selections on cheap herbs and spices to flavour up your meat and veg.
    I could go on! :)

Cook in batches and freeze some in separate portions. Very economical.

Sorry to hear you’re out of work but it's good that you’re using the time to invest on your health. Not sure how tight things are but even a few eggs and fruit would help bring some balance to your diet until you’re in a better financial position. As boogle said above some quality stuff in Aldi's.
