    Jane I'm hope I'm not over stepping the mark here. But I've read some posts about your Mam. And I have to say it reminds me a little of me and my Mam when I was first out of work.

    She was on my back for being on the internet so much or sleeping past ten in the morning. And huge fights would ensue, which would mean me staying on the internet longer and sleeping in more to stay away from her.... Visous circle.

    I don't think she is trying to be intentionally mean to you. When I sat down and spoke to my Mam, she told me that of course she understood how difficult it was to get a job, but that she didn't want to see her daughter who worked so hard in school waste her life like this....

    After we talked things got better. And now I'm unemployed again and moved back home, things are ok because we both know where we stand.

    As awful as it may be, you need to sit your Mam down and talk it out. If you can't write it down and show here. You will always be miserble if you don't

    @Lottie - thanks for your post. I'm trying to work things out and talk to her about it all but she doesn't understand where I'm coming from. We just aren't seeing eye to eye. Which is why I think college for a year is a good idea. It'll give us both time to ourselves and it'll give me the opportunity to update my CV with a great course.

    College is a great idea :). When you are there you should try and get a part time job or whatever, so that in a years time, you are not straight back in this situation.

    If anyone has any inspiration they'd like to lend me, that'd be great. Now I have the fun task of ringing Magnet and telling them my Broadband is b0rk3d and because I have a 9-5 job like normal humans, I can't be sitting beside the router to try trouble shoot...

    Magnet's support guy I spoke to was very helpful - had to tick the boxes their end with some line tests etc, but meanwhile has sent me the details necessary to configure another router which I've sourced here in the office, so can't really fault them on that. With a bit of luck there'll be some live in this old Eircom modem I have to get my tubes back up and running this evening.

    So motivated today. Brought my BTEA form into the social welfare office, got some info for my grant form, filled in some more of it, posted my college registration form and got a great cookbook from MABS. :D

    Evening all.
    Had a crazy day today. Arrived into work this morning to "you shouldn't be here, you have training". Had to get a taxi and fly up. Spent 3.5 hours learning all about food safety and hygiene -yawn!
    Then a taxi back to my shop and work til 5!
    I've to wait til Thursday to get my money back for the 2 taxis cos my manager is off tomorrow. So I'm €14 short til then!
    Plus my mam and dad are away so I've to go check the house later and put out the bins for her. And I miss her loads.
    Soooo tired! Can't wait for bed :D

    Give me a shout if you're stuck, I've configured several modems for Magnet. :) The main thing is that they use RFC 1483 rather than PPPoE.
