Looking for some advise on bent over rows.
Basically i've been doing them for once a week for a month with very little progress.
My main concern is that I never get doms follwoing the exercise but do struggle to finish my sets.
I do 8x5 working up to 90kg at the moment and ive been struggling with 90kg for the last month and my form breaks a bit.
The thing is when I do cable rows, chins ups and deadlift I can feel my back has had workout but i dont get the same from the bent over rows.
    I can bench 120kg and deadlift 180kg.

Should I persevere on with them maybe dropping back the weight and upping the reps or just replace them?

    Try Pendlay rows...harder to cheat.

90kg row doesn't sound too out of line with your bench and deadlift numbers. Don't worry about not getting dons, they arent important.

Thanks I always though it should be same as your bench. Its my least favourite exercise I will try Pendley rown but they sound very similar to bent over rows.

I am very tempted to swap em for one arm dumbell rows.

If you're doing them right (ie bent over) then you'll never get it near your bench. If you're doing them pretty much upright like a reverse grip shrug, then maybe.

Pendlay rows are amazing. Probably one of the best rowing exercises out there. Far, far, far superior to one arm dumbbell rows for most purposes, in my opinion.

Should you only do bent over row/pendlay rows with a straight bar? would you be at any disadvantage from using an EZ bar?

:D Even when we cheated (the odd time) we were still miles away!

I could not even tell you what we did on BOR's but imo if you are doing 80,90kg BOR's correctly then that is a good weight.

More people probably know how to use a concept2 than do BOR's correctly! IMO.

My excuse for such crap form it was the end of filming 36 exercises in what 4+hrs!:D

Hey looked at the video Id be bent over alot more than that nearly to the same level as pendley rows but with a slight 5%-10% incline(if that make sense)

Im sure my form is ok with 80kg but I do seriouslly struggle with 90kg.
