Hi, I was on my way over to Lisduggan today and I saw an area in Larchville i think its called, just down from Lisduggan shops theres the credit union and then futher down there,

As i was passing by i saw the area taped off and a guard standing in the middle of the road with a un marked car and a squad car I drove down and I couldnt pass through one of the neighbours told me the road was closed since last night as there were "a couple of stabbings last night" I listened to te radio but didnt hear anything. anybody know what happened.?

Then say nothing at all on here and lose the attempt to provoke a rise or a response out of people interested in what happened.

Well, lately when people are saying that its just taking the piss from a thread a few weeks back. But when people seriously say that they get f*ck off with themselves. It makes them just sound like snobby **** that want attention.

Yes that is exactly why, and that is exactly the next logical thing I would like

You may have a life with so little in it that you need to get a thrill from going on the net pretending to be in the know about stuff (and tbh its Waterford, who doesnt know 99% of what goes on within 48 hours!) its sad.

We're not allowed say what happened though on here. I normally just go to pm when these situations pop up.

Yeah, and pretty much everybody knows we are not allowed to speculate with details, so when people are doing it taking the piss it can funny, I actually intended my post to be a joke more or less, but when a knob comes on to say it for no other reason I can think of only that they need to feel like they are important? they are just being idiots.

Ah I know what ya mean. By now we probably all heard a few rumours anyways.
Cant believe someone used a fecking hollow pointed arrow with uranium on the stick on someone over a game of pokemon. The gold cards are rare though so maybe it was justifiable.

ah come on now, we've all seen the blue/white garda cars but 'silver' is a bit unusual and seems to be trying to stand out for some reason, when one would imagine ordinary kop cars should be camouflaging them selves in some cases.

a lad was stabbed. his family were called to the hospital last night as he's not good.

Unfortunately lads, we will have to wait for a politician or judge to be stabbed and killed before the gards will get off their ar$es and start doing random searches and increase penalties for those carrying weapons. The dog in the street could see 10 years ago that this was going to happen here as it had already happened in the UK.

he is still alive as far as i know, please God he pulls through his and his familys sake. I find it astonishing why this thread is becoming a figure of humour for some posters.

    MOD Note:

We all enjoy a laugh on this forum and personally I have a warped sense of humor so I appreciate the jokes.

However, this is not the pub. There is a very real possibility that the poor chaps family is reading this thread. So I'd appreciate it if we cut back on making light of incidents like this and just keep it to updates and general discussion.

    Cheers.

Random searched would be great but it wont go down well at all. People think that random searches should only be enforced on young fella's who wear hoodies, when imo if it comes in it should be enforced on everyone know matter what sex, race, age, fashion they are into.

Random searches? No thanks. It would be wide open to abuse and I don't think it is proper policing for the gardaí to be stopping and searching all and sundry.

I know what ya mean I was just saying my opinion on it since the other poster mentioned it.
If it comes in it would have to be for everyone. Yes some cops will abuse their power which would be one obvious reason against it. Then you would have people who dont wear hoodies whinging about getting searched because they dont "look like" a scumbag, bla bla bla it wouldnt be do-able imho. Personally I couldnt give a shyte if I was walking down the road and some cop decided to search me randomly. I can see why it would annoy someone but Im never really in a rush to get anywhere so a minute or two wouldnt annoy me. haha

We actually do have an unofficial policy of random searching. Gardaí can stop and search you anytime they want.

a bit off the track, but does anyone know , that if a garda stops you & asks for your name do you have to identify yourself ?

As far as I knew, they have to suspect you of something (possession of drugs, etc..) Random searching without any justification for doing so, I wasn't aware of anything like that.
