    :D

The Season 3 Premiere of Nikita will be called "3.0".

Megan in Portland, Ore.: I. Need. Nikita. (please.)
Sheesh! Well, at least you said please. In the season three premiere, Nikita and Michael will come face-to-face with Martin, an ex-Division agent who is ruthlessly dangerous, but also handsome with an "evil sexuality." Martin has been working in Hong Kong as an undercover fashion photographer, but once Percy died and Division gained new leadership, he cut out his tracker (ouch!) and went rogue. Now Martin is working with Hong Kong Intelligence Agent Li Bai, leaving a trail of dead CIA members who all had horrible "accidents." Note to self: Don't go to lunch with Martin

    Little Nikita
"Nikita": We'll meet Wade, a Percy loyalist who will stop at nothing to carry out a mission -- he even kidnapped an 8-year-old girl and has been training her, physically and mentally, for five years to help him complete his task. Obviously, Nikita isn't exactly a fan of his methods.

3 scoops for the price of one! ;)
In episode four, which is forebodingly titled "Consequences," we'll meet a former Division agent who is working for Amanda and Percy. She's cool, intimidating and an incredibly dangerous agent that Nikita should not cross paths with. But of course, she probably will, and something tells us that this new foe will be around for a lot longer than we'd like.

The CW’s edgy spy drama meets… Game of Thrones? A new casting call is looking to fill the potentially recurring role of Anne, a former Division agent who is loyal to Amanda and is described as a “cold and intimidating, long, tall drink of scary,” someone who could boast an unusual look à la the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Tilda Swinton, Grace Jones or, yes, Thrones‘ Brienne of Tarth — AKA no one I would want to run into in a bar, let alone a dark alley!

You know who has problems with authority? If your guess was Nikita — ding, ding! And this will create a little problem when Jake takes over as boss in the new season and has more than a few growing pains. “Right away in the first episode, Ryan makes a decision while Nikita is on a mission that does not sit well with her at all,” teases Maggie Q. “So already it’s starting to boil up”. Two additional bits: 1) At Comic-Con, EP Craig Silverstein mentioned a makeover for Amanda (Melinda Clarke, pictured). But I hear the plans have dialed back a bit to accommodate flashbacks. However, he assures it will features a new wardrobe and be a “twist” on her current look. And 2) Remember that “wedge” that supposedly comes between Michael and Nikita? I hear it’s a big one — so big it could drive her into someone else’s arms!

So I just watched the first 2 seasons of this show. I was surprised by how much I liked it :)

Or, most of it. There were some bits I'm not mad about, but most of it was good. Like most CW shows I kept thinking, if only this was on a different network.....

Anyway... I have a few queries about season 3. Facts or opinions welcomed.

1 - With Owen and Ryan being promoted to series regulars, will Sean still be around? I know series regulars who aren't the main stars usually have like 13 episode contracts, so will it be Sean one week and Owen the next? I know Sean is in at least one episode at the start because of his twitter, but none of those guys were at CC and given the budgets these shows are working with it seems pricey to have 3 series regulars who are kind of interchangeable. Also, one of the spoilers mentions another female being added who may be around for a while. Although I guess sacking off Percy (RIP :() would free up a bit of cash. Dillon Casey is also working on a film at the moment, which is shooting in Toronto too, but it kind of suggests he's not overly busy with Nikita.....

2 - Given that Alex went public and told the whole world who she really is, how is she going to be able to continue on as a spy? You have to think something like that would have been worldwide news, and their disguises aren't exactly brilliant, so what will her role be now?

I had other questions, but I've forgotten them now....

I just sat through a 20 minute preview of all the new shows on CW this year (20 minutes I'll never get back!) and I'd say with some confidence that bar them killing everyone off or turning it into a comedy show, Nikita will probably get a season 4 too.

I'd be surprised if any of the new shows lasted the year never mind got a pick up for another season.

i dunno the CW have very low expectations, the SYFY channel id say has higher ones:D

arrow might succeed mainly due to the um "talent" on show and a bit of flashy action, that generally seems to do the trick on the CW, Emily Owens MD just i dunno it doesnt remotely spark my curiosity, terrible name, why not something like 5th avenue trauma, some trendy doctors doing hearth surgery in cocktail dresses, now theres a show that should get made;)

i am looking forward to nikita though, its generally a fun show to watch,

    and Alex is pretty cute;)

Even by their own low expectations I can't see any of them bothering any of the current shows for a renewal spot.
I think Gossip Girl is in it's last season anyway so that's one gone already, even if Arrow is "successful". Cult is a mid season show, so they obviously have less than little faith in it. Emily Owen's looks rubbish. The Carrie Diaries looks like 80's Gossip Girl so it'll probably do okay. Don't even start me on Beauty and the Beast. What's her face that stunk up Smallville for years is the "lead". When your lead has all the charisma of a wet paper bag you're in trouble.

But yeah, even by their own terrible standards this years shows look like they're not even trying. Hart of Dixie was borderline anyway for renewal this year, so it'll have to do really well this season to get a 3rd. Of course CW decisions are made from different perspectives than what's actually good TV, but it would seem smart to push an already established show like Nikita than trying to get new ones that are flopping to succeed.

    Season 3 "Teasers"

    http://www.wetpaint.com/network/articles/nikita-season-3-teasers-with-nikita-back-at-division-the-show-will-be-radically-different-exclusive

    Basically.....
the main arc for season 3 will be them trying to bring in 30 rogue agents who didn't come in when Division was taken over by Nikita and co. Amanda is most likely involved with the rogue guys.

There's some talk about making a lot of episodes "stand alone" episodes, ie. "monster of the week" episodes. I'm not sure I like that. I liked the story being unveiled little bits at a time over the full season, but I guess they're trying to appeal to people who have never watched the show. Hopefully they'll be able to keep people who are fans already interested too.

    From EW:
When the new season begins, Alex is having what Maggie Q calls “a little bit of an identity crisis” after coming clean about her identity at the end of last season. “She can’t be as effective as a member of the team as she’d like to be because of her new-found fame,” says Maggie Q. “The downside [of her reveal] is that she is now a public figure…She’s going to struggle with that.”

That kind of answers my question re: How can she be a spy when the whole world knowing who Alex is now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,144 ✭✭✭✭expectationlost

well she can still be a spy as alexandra, but she can't pretend to anybody else (for long)

Well, she can be a spy in the super secretive sense of the word. Sneak in, sneak out kind of way, but most of the missions they've been on they're pretending to be someone else. I guess they could use her as "Alexandra Udinov" to get in places or whatever but she's not going to be much use to them as a spy. But then that seems to be what her story is going to be about for season 3.

I could've sworn we've already had 3 seasons. Must just be due to how the last season ended, it seemd like the end of a 3 season arc. Also so much has happened in those 2 seasons.

A lot did happen is season 2. Maybe because they didn't know whether they'd have a season 3 or not until after they'd filmed season 2. So they kind of wrapped everything up in a way that if there was no S3 most things would be resolved in a fairly satisfactory way.

Yay!....Team Nikita back tonight, after the shocking turn of events in the season 2 finale it'll be highly interesting to see how things pan out....and Amanda is still in the wings for good measure.

Season 2 was rather iffy at the start of the season but the second half was really great so looking for to see what Craig Silverstein has in mind!

For a second there I thought you got your hands on a screener. Though I don't think they've been made available to critics yet. No reviews online thus far.

After a false start last Friday due to duff info.....Nikita is ON for tonight!, yay!....can't wait. Been a big fan since the start and i think it's a quality show that deserves better then CW.

Love to see it on basic cable as they'd be able to do harder stuff, budget bump wouldn't hurt either. But thankfully fridays seem to guarantee renewal for the show and i'm very confident it'll get a 4th season due to international sales + syndication money :-)

Plus have you seen the new CW shows? They're awful! Arrow looks to be about the best of them and it's still pretty poor. Granted a show sometimes takes a few episodes to find it's feet but if I was a current CW show I wouldn't be too worried about any of the new ones replacing me.

I'm just minutes away from LASHING into the new season! :D

    But for now:

You had me at gimme the damn glock :)

YAY!...Mikita shippers rejoice, wedding bells! :) ....solid opener all round despite it being mission-of-the-week, but Silverstein said the first half of the season would be track down the rogue agents.

I assume the back half will involve Amanda, was nice to see the normal scenes as well and funny ones, Mikita having fun in the hotel room, Nikita realising she can do normal stuff.

Decent stunt jumping off the roof as well, still feels like Nikita but i suspect Ryan will turn into Percy and with the threat of death over everyones head how far will he go?

    3.5/5

    Oh Nikita...!!! :( why...wtf?, why aren't people watching? :(
I thought 0.3 was bad last week, but this week it got even worse :(

    A 0.2 and 793,000 :(

    http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2012/10/27/tv-ratings-friday-grimm-csiny-up-fringe-shark-tank-slip-mockingbird-lane-special-aint-too-shabby/154934/

The conventional widsom suggests the show will last not just this season but also to season 4, due to WBtv wanting 90 episodes and syndication....but with these numbers one wonders.......:(

As people have said a repeat of Arrow would garner higher ratings and ultimately higher revenue :(

Not seen the second ep. yet - will review later, but Nikita might not make it the full season at this rate :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,263 ✭✭✭DeWitt

I'm absolutely heartbroken. Nikita is the lowest rated show of all the networks this fall. I just don't understand the CW at all. There's zero promotion for this season. I mean I know fans who didn't even know it came back last week. All their money is being thrown at Arrow, which is great and all but they really need to work this shizz out.

In regards to this weeks ep: I didn't LOVE it, but there was some nice Nikita/Alex moments and the Dirty Thirty foe was kinda awesome.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,263 ✭✭✭DeWitt

According to Devon Sawa we don't have much to worry about. The cast had a meeting with the network on Thursday and no one is expecting miracles. The show is still performing well in downloads and on social networks.

yay!....0.4 and over 1 million....thank the gods!, very weak episode last night, really boring...despite as fave of mine Hottie Scottie Thompson guest starring. They seemed to splash the budget though on that arena.....

Musta been a couple of thousand people there!...amanda and owen next week ;)

    Omg...OMG!

What a STUNNING episode!, totally gripping and action packed!....Amanda!
Holy crap!, she is baaaaack! :D , totally awesome, internal bio bomb. brainwashing Owen, Alex back on the drugs!, Seasn tells Alex he loves her...then dumps her!

Amanda's comeback was superb from the video of doom to her plan for Nikita. looks like Amanda is gonna put the smackdown on Mikita....by taking out Michael!

Best episode of the season and this could well be a gamechanger for the season!, hopefully when the show returns from the Xmas break they'll move from rogue-of-the-week to a more serialised arc involving Amanda.

As good as Percy was as the bad guy Amanda ramps it up to a whole new level! :D

    Black Badge:

"Nikita": In episode 11, Sean is framed for the murder of a CIA agent -- and Nikita has to take drastic measures to clear his name. In the same episode, another CIA agent, Naomi, happens upon a flash drive that contains the first real proof that the secret organization she's been tracking actually exists. And yes, that secret organization is Division. Will the whole operation be exposed?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,263 ✭✭✭DeWitt

Couldn't agree more. So any guesses as to who the mole is? I'm leaning towards Sean myself. Sonya, maybe.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,572 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

I think Sonya too. As for Amanda's plan, if this is the last season, would they have the balls to kill some people off? Michael?

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 21,634 ✭✭✭✭Richard Dower

No episode on Friday, but its back this Friday....to tide you over some good news = Amanda/Melinda Clark will be in 14 of the 22 eps. - so pretty much the entire back half will be an Amandafest :-)
In episode 12, Amanda is up to no good. Well, she's always up to no good, but this time the whole country is in danger. Amanda will be training a terrorist who really has it out for America after he lost a family member to collateral damage during a war in his country. And he wants revenge in the worst way possible.
Episode 312 takes on some heavy subject matter when we meet Saalim, a Yemeni man. When the U.S. sends troops and drones to the Middle East in the war on terror, innocents become collateral damage as we strike against our targets. Saalim, who lost a child to a stray bullet in a raid from U.S. forces, is determined to avenge his son's life, and his desire to make Americans feel the fear and uncertainty he's experienced makes him easily manipulated toward terrorism. And who better to take him under her wing, to school and encourage his violent nature, than Amanda?

    Oh!....this one sounds good!
"Nikita": In Episode 313, we'll get to know a precocious teenager named Stefan. (And yes, you can expect a wink-wink nudge-nudge nod to "The Vampire Diaries.) Stefan just happens to be the son of Gogol boss Ari Tasarov, but he's in the dark about his father's line of work. Stefan is caught off-guard to learn that his own personal Alfred-the-butler buddy, Kreig, is actually a highly trained mercenary. When Stefan goes missing, Kreig abducts Amanda and Nikita to shake them for info. But which one of them has the kid?

Watched all of this from start to finish over the last week. Really enjoyed it, good show. Reminds me alot of Alias which is no bad thing. It's going to be annoying going from watching several a day to having to wait weeks for episodes but oh well. Gotta say, Lyndsy Fonseca is stunning. Those eyes! Amazing. Alex wouldn't have to work very hard to seduce me on a mission anyway.

Really hope it's ratings pick up though as it seems to be in trouble. The Nielsons system is bloody horrible aswell.

where's mr navy seal gone again?

Something tells me he will be quietly shunted out of the way via either a bullet or some mysterious mission.

They actually used Lyndsy Fonseca's Butterfly tattoo quite cleverly in the last episode. Owen spotted it as she left the medical room near the end of the episode. It went a bit slow-mo about it too. Owen's dead girlfriend had a thing for butterfly's so it's surely some sort of sign that he will fall hoplessly in love with her....as you do after just meeting somebody. He is a serious regular after all now :p
