    1000th RAW ad

Brilliant! I'd love to see more like them.

Reminded me of the one they aired during the SuperBowl in 1999, where they were in Connecticut.

    LOL

Charlie Sheen is the "Celebrity Social Media Ambassador" so he will be tweeting all about Raw that night

I don't get this at all tbh; either it's someone representing Sheen who will be fawning over the show all night, or it's going to legit be Sheen, who will likely be pissing all over the show, and is completly inappropriate for the kiddy audience :S

Don't know how I would feel if everyone was in wrestling gear around the office. Divas, maybe. The others not so much

So that fun ad aside what are people expecting from this episode? no doubt the WWE will try and do something big for it especially as its rating should be higher than usual especially with them plugging it for so long in the build up.

    The return of Brock Lesnar
The big Summer Angle that has been talked up
A new perm GM put in place
An In ring return of The Undertaker (vs Slater)
WWE Legends appearing, maybe more than the usual with an Austin/ Rock etc appearance
    Something else

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,888 ✭✭✭Charisteas

Wow that commercial promo got a ton of thanks, then I must be the only one who didn't like it, just more Cena-esque cheesy cringe worthy humour.

I'd like to see Slater come to ring, and say that tonight he's going to defeat the very first WWE Raw main eventer. Then Damien Demento comes out and Slater beats him easily. Then the arena goes black, out comes Taker, chokeslam and win.

Hopefully Austin and Rock do a segment together but not holding my breath that Rock will be there. I would love it if they did something where Vince and Shane McMahon are in the ring talking crap, then Austin then Rock come out and Stunner/Rock Bottom simultaneously.

Also would be cool if Sable and Stephanie McMahon had a backstage tiff with each other. Not just the two wives of Brock/Trips but they also both have their history as two of the most popular women of Raw in the last 20 years.

Bryan and Austin to say What and Yes! to each other 6,000 times in lazy segment.

I hope this rumored new WWE championship belt is introduced.

Who do people think the permanent GM will be?

The fact that its the 1000th Raw I hope its a big star announced.

    Please not Teddy or Vicki.

I'd like to see Slater cheat for a win against the returning legend, Ricky Steamboat might be a nice fit. Have Slater get beaten for the next couple of weeks, and really play up the fact that he is getting beat by all these legends. Then he pulls a sneaky win out of the bag on the 1000th Raw, and really takes the p*ss in the following weeks, with "I beat Steamboat" t-shirts and the like. Steamboat can get his win back at SummerSlam.

As noted earlier here on the website, in addition to Brock Lesnar vs. Triple H, which is expected to be made official at the 1000th RAW, WWE creative has finalized other three top matches for SummerSlam. The match plans are being kept “top secret” at the moment, though the plan is to do a total of seven matches including some kind of gimmick match.

    7 matches?!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,549 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

How many of those matches wil be squash matches? And a Battle Royal, for which we'll need the rules explained to us.

Permanent GM, by popular demand, is the Anonymous Raw GM.

We'll probably have another backstage party where random legends pop by, Ron Simmons says Damn... Oooooh there's something they can do, the Austin/Bryan What/Yes segment mentioned above can end with Simmons coming in and saying Damn! Maybe through Flair in there for the Wooo's and you're sorted

I hope people aren't getting their hopes up for the legends. We nearly always get the same bunch of Hacksaw, Piper, Slaughter etc. Would be great if they mixed it up a little but I don't expect them to. Edge would probably be the furthest they are willing to go.

bruno, hogan to be there :D

hbk is confirmed, bret hart too, taker they have been in contact with, flair i wouldn't be surprised with but the tna lawsuit thing might put paid to him being there

I'd disagree, Sgt Slaughter and co are cheap 'legend' fill-ins but for the 1000th episode, which tbf is a very impressive occasion to celebrate, I can see them going all out.

Eh, besides the regular legends we say every 100 episodes, it'll be DX. They might get the extended family (So HHH, HBK, Nash, Waltman, Road Dogg - and maybe Billy Gunn).

Shocked they brought out Sid before the 1,000th show, he legitimately hasn't been on WWE TV for about 15 years.

We might get Austin as well, or he might see that there's enough retro acts and leave it. Trish is another name.

I wouldn't expect Taker, but it'd be great. Even greater would be if he turned up in his Funeral Parlour outfit with gloves and cravat. That was all kinds of awesome.

I expect Lita and Trish as they put in the occasional appearance and are favourites. Speaking of divas, where's Kelly Kelly these days? Was she injured?

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 42,788 Mod ✭✭✭✭Lord TSC

Taking some time off after several years without a break. Would imagine she'll make an appearance as well....

I took that article to mean 7 matches at Summerslam, not 1000th Raw.

Ah, so Gimmick Battle Royal and an attempt to have a faster World title match than Wrestlemania :D

I read a report that The Undertaker is meant to be appearing at Survivor Series, which is....weird?

in what way is that weird, that is truly awesome as the 1st time he was ever in wwe is his debut at survivor series

Weird in that I thought he would appear on Raw and then at WrestleMania, so I guess not Raw.

    Saw this the other day

Taker debuted at a Superstars taping 3 days before the Survivor Series (although it was aired mid-December). He refers to himself as 'Kane the Undertaker' which is surreal!

Wonder why they dropped the name Kane? If they kept it, they probably would have called Glen Jacobs 'Abel' :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,166 ✭✭✭Stereomaniac

I think Paul Bearer and The Undertaker had the idea to give Glen Jacobs that character actually.

He already beat Doink though, so he'll already claim that one. :)

Doink's gonna be considered an all time legend, one of the best ever. It's gonna be pretty neat!

Any chance of Slater jobbing to Lex Luger this month?

bit harsh considering the chap had, and has recovered incredibly from, a serious stroke.

Exactly. Pretty inspirational, really. As I said before, he's come through some pretty black days.

and thank god for that, at least he will make it worth watching.

several sites are saying that Kharma is expected to officially return at the 1000th Raw. perhaps giving Trish and Lita a couple of Implant Busters would do nicely

i think they will bring in some rarely seen legends because most of the past superstars brought back for Heath Slater's thing have been pretty unpredictable choices (apart from Roddy Piper of course). i mean i wouldn't have predicted Doink, Wendi Richter, Bob Backlund, DDP or Sycho Sid
