So it's down to believing.

Apparently even science requires a bit of faith.

Well having proof which suggests it exists because they have found it's footprint, is a lot different than having a belief that something exists because a book says so.

They've found scientific evidence to explain the origin of the universe, therefore offering proof that it was not God's creation.

but now bible bashers will say who created the boson particle? GOD ?

    I already pointed that out.

no the haydron collider didn't create the particle, it merely proved it exists... something had to create one 13.7bil years ago to form our universe, long before the collider was built

But sure you don't need proof when you have faith ................ God probably made it all happen anyway .

No idea what this means at all. They've found god or it's still a mystery? If they found evidence then which god have they found?! Does he have a long white beard?

They've found scientific evidence to explain the origin of the universe, therefore offering proof that it was not God's creation.

Thanks for that. This should be interesting. If this is true and proof is found then surely this would be the greatest discovery ever??

The churches response should be good.

I feel a Dan Brown novel here. All the scientists will be killed before they pass the information on to the public.

the big question bible bashers need to ask themselves is if nothing existed before the universe then how could god itself have existed?

They haven't actually found proof, they found a "footprint". Basically they confirmed that it likely exists based on circumstantial evidence. In the same way the church prove that God exists. This won't change anything.

Sure isn't he like a circle - no beginning and no ending?

Then it's no wonder you can't keep up.

Thanks I wish I had a science teacher like you in school to explain things, mine just wore very tight tops and distracted me all day.

Scientists working on the data point out that none of the commenters in the blogs or mentioned by name in the news articles is involved in analyzing the data -- so just like everyone else, they could be speculating.

I wasn't being serious btw, like the bible you weren't meant to take that literally.

mine used to throw tantrums then cry like a big baby... he had a nervous breakdown at some point in the past.... I wonder if Mr. Curry still teaches.

If there are multiple universes like some people think then it's possible something created this particular one. Our own scientists have come up with possible ways of creating a universe. If we did create one we certainly wouldn't have god like powers over it.

A few billion well spent. What's most entertaining is twelve references to God on this thread,......... by a lot of posters who moan about people bringing God into things.

Faith doesn't back up a theory - it is an unconditional belief in it.

Well as far as I know membranes existed before the universe. One of the theories is that their collision caused the bigbang.

i dont get all this mumbo jumbo about evidence of 'god particles'...

so basically they found traces of semen?

The data the scientists have collected shows the footprint of the Higgs boson particle.

    pics or gtfo.

    Evolution is a theory.

The Big Bang is a theory.

The Big Bang Theory has Penny, hmmmmmm

Crikey, I used to have a jar of those Higgs Boson particles in my shed and I used them all up throwing them at crows when I had no cent coins. I feel pret-ty foolish now, they could have been worth something.
