    Good evening,

I hope someone may be able to help me. I am going to Puerto Banus in two weeks and have recently started taking Whey Protein, as I do not really want to bring over a supply with me can anyone tell me if they know if that are any health shops in Puerto Banus where I can buy this protein please :confused:

There's a sports shop on the bottom floor of the main shopping centre (the name escapes me). Anyway they stock loads of protein bars and brands of protein, I remember seeing Weider there but forget what else they have...

bring it with you in a few zip lock bags bagged twice.

I have often brought 2 weeks supply on holidays no bother

Tried buying stuff in spain before and generally quite poor quality

Why would you get hassle? It's only powdered food.

Really? So you walk onto a plane with a labelless ziplock bag full of white or brown powder with no hassle? Really?!

If they question you they'll just take a sample of the stuff and test it, and then you'll be on your merry way....

And by this he does not mean burning it on an old spoon and spiking your arm!! Snort it like the rest of us ha ha.

On a serious not if you think it would be hassle just buy it over there or bring bars.

I know I would be nervous bringing any kind of white powder in a ziplock back on a flight.

    Puerto Banus......my favorite place

I bet you are either in your late teens or just over 20.

Go there, have fun, head down to the strip every night.

Enjoy your holiday and drink plenty of vodka and red bulls

the texture of whey protein is different to drugs and sniffer dogs won't react to it so no problems. Even in carry-on it would be pretty easy to show it's protein.

Once you hit the airport its the individual idiot you meet in security that decides, its not a matter of dipping your finger in it and telling him its strawberry flavor. If it looks out of the ordinary they will take it and feck it in the bin irregardless of what you claim it is.

I really don't think so. Airport security have guidelines they must follow. They can't just throw non prohibited items in the bin.

Thats true, but when they haven't got time to evaluate what you have is what you say it is you either do not travel or it goes in the bin.

Just buy a 2lb tub of whey and leave seals intact?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,480 ✭✭✭Chancer3001

Nah they dont throw your stuff in the bin.

people bring lots and lots of tablets through, often not in their original conatiners.

My dad brings about 5 tubs of medication with him. Basically a load of pills in little boxes! Gets asked sometimes, 9/10 times they never ask.

I flew to Aus with a bag of creatine and a bag of whey. I'm not sure which bag i put it in and didn't even consider it would be an issue. I'm sure its a regular occurrence for security.

just tape the ziploc bags around your torso and cover it with a nice loose fitting wooly jumper and you'll be grand....
