    Hi there,
Although I'm not new to boards, I am new to the boating thread.
Can anyone on here recommend a good mechanic in Galway city/ south Galway to have a look over my bayliner?
I find it very difficult to locate a good one, I've had a shop do work for me, only not to find they didn't actually fix the problem at all.
    Thanks

Thanks Fergal, I've tried their mechanic, twice, both times on the phone he was to get back to me, but then didn't hear from him again. Very frustrating.

There are a few things niggling in the back of my mind that I would like to get checked out. TBH i have no confidence in the boat itself and feel that if I take it on the water i''m gonna need a tow home. To me this is a good enough reason not to go on the water.

Seems strange that in these days guy's can afford to turn down work or not reply to all calls.

It's very frustrating alright. It's not just this week I've contacted them, I'd expect that boatyards in Galway are pretty busy this week. I'll try those links tomorrow. Thanks

Reading through some of the forums on here gave me a fresh impetus to get the boat back on the water this week. After a lot of help from youtube, a few mates and a seloc manual, the engine seems to be spot on on the trailer at least.
Now if only the weather would give us a break, I hope to be on the water this weekend.

Thanks guys, sometimes a little encouragement is all it takes to reinvigorate!!!:)
