hamstrings + tight tendons

I've always had tight hamstrings and have never been able to tough my toes.

I've always had a deep tissue massage monthly for the past couple years, however my sister passed on the knowledge of foam rollers and 1 physio suggested i use a tennis ball for my glutes.

Googling and youtubing how to use said ball and roll has thrown up some interesting reading and subsequent stretching.

My hams dont feel so bad, and not as tight as usual and i can almost touch my toes again, the main thing hampering me now is not the muscles but the 2 tendons on either side of my knee at the back.

Is this normal? Can these be stretched? Am i destined to never be able to touch my toes ever again?

If anyone can think of a remedy it would be greatly appreciated.

p.s. I've started using a harder hockey ball on the glutes and hams and can feel the difference than the tennis ball squishing

Id recommend checking out mobilitywod, it will show you lots of funky ways to stretch and foam roll every part of your body.

Your calves need to be stretched to and your ankles n everything else really.

I've been following mwod for about a year n everything from my training to my posture has improved immeasurably, can't recommend it enough really.
