I haven't even heard yes or no. Expected to know ages ago so I just assumed it was a no when I never heard back

I applied for it last year. Did not receive a call or email, didn't get picked anyway. Ye should probably hear word back in early July.

Every year they contact people without much notice about it. Nothing new.

I heard there was a crazy amount of applicants. Doubt I'll get it tbh, seems like my whole bloody course applied!!

I'd say thats true. I just threw my name in to be honest so if I dont get it i wont be too disappointed but my course is not that big so hopefully i'll have a chance!

It's only voluntary I think.

My guide last year was absolutely shocking.
He was from abroad and couldn't understand or hear a single word he said,
Whether at the back of group or front.
He just brought us to get our student cards,
Then showed us some rooms I never even went into this year,
Up ****loads of steps to more labs we didn't even use,
And we used three different labs so that's a talent.
Remember him showing me a room and mumbling you're going to have a lot of your lectures in here.
Not a one...
Forgot to show us Physics lab that we used for both semesters,
Or the Kemmy I think.
Definitely didn't cross Living Bridge!
Showed us library,
Some random rooms on floors one and two,
A stray lab of floor 3,
Got lost on Mezzanine floor,
Not sure if he actually shown us canteen place,
Left us run astray in the Courtyard and I'd say I was one of few that heard him say meet up under the bridge in half an hour.
Met up outside the bookshop,
Not sure what we did after that...
If we went home or went back to the Foundation building.

I don't mean to crucify himself alone like,
I just don't think he knew what he was getting himself into when he signed up.
Need to be outgoing, able to talk loud so entire group can hear you, without screaming, and the ability to explain and answer questions.
Need to have a good sense of direction too,
And maybe he should have made a plan before he came that day of where he was going, rooms he would show us and know answers to any questions that may arise.

Let you know that now before you sign up and make sure you've the qualities outlined!

Was one last year great fun. Just on the third and fourth day when you sit down keep moving your legs or you will never get up again

I meant you didn't have to apply, I think that's what the person was asking. If it wasn't paid I'm sure a lot less people would go for it :P

Also heard they were contacting this week alright!

Orientation Guide training is on the 3rd, you'll get the t-shirt then also. Not sure what time it is though, hopefully we'll get an email before the weekend, otherwise there's going to be confusion.

Ya, saw that in the first email they sent, kinda annoying though that their leaving it so late to tell us more about it. Especially when I've already emailed asking them about it.

Just got an email about it there from Kelly O' Brien. half 8 on Monday morning in the UCH, nice and early folks...get breakfast and lunch though, so might end up putting a face to a few of you here, a bit of an impromptu BULBs without the beers :P
