    Hi,

just looking for some help, feedback on going public for an Op etc in this country. My BF has no health insurance at the moment and is having to jump through a serious amount of hoops to get keyhole surgery or even a proper diagnosis at that of what he has. He has galstones or ulcer but Doctors need to do a camera scope on him. he's had a scan for Galstones and has them but they want to double check another few things for other infections but are taking their time about it and loosing vital information along the way like his latest scan results and general files. This has been going on since March. I know going public in the healthcare system in this country means all this kinda stuff but he has't been able to eat properly for months as certain foods set of the pain,he's on a load of medication and just generally not well while supposed "specialists" are dithering taking their time and telling him another few weeks for a referral letter to go out then it's another few weeks wait for a test, it's just never ending. I suppose what I'm asking is is there any way around this? Does anyone know of other clinics he could go to for a second opinion or be seen to quicker in or around Dublin or Co Dublin area as the hospital/clinic he's going to are F all use!! Would he be better off going over to the UK or up North to get this seen to, know a lot of people end up going up North for dental care? I have rang few medical insurance places myself and they all say them same thing, he has to have a minimum of 6 months on a new policy before it would cover anything, does anyone know of any loopholes in this. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
