Women's opinion on the drink

It may be just my personal experiences, but it seems to me that a lot of women have very little time for men who drink a lot. In many relations I've been in I've been asked to reduce my drinking, and I have seen the same thing in a lot of my friend's relationships.

Recently my girlfriend broke up with me, calling me an alcoholic psychopath and a drunk freak, and another friend of mine ended his relationship due to nagging about alcohol.

Is this a general feeling among women, that drinking shouldn't get in the way of the relationship?

    Hi Deus Ex Machine.

As per the charter, the Ladies' Lounge is not the place for men to ask for women's opinions on relationship matters.
