First off I'd just like to make it clear that I'm not looking for medical advice, just some basic tips...Glad that's out of the way!The thing is,I started jogging only last week. I walk alot anyway and decided to alternate walking with light, short jogs. The past 2 days my achilles area has been quite sore. Now I don't have the best running shoes and I may not be running properly,if there is such a thing. So,would people who know, advise laying off for a while, keeping at it,just walking, going to a sports shop and getting my running pattern checked? Like I say,it's not medical advice just basic jogging tips I'm after I guess. There may already be a thread about all of this but there's so much here to plough through that maybe someone has a link to an existing thread?I'm new to jogging as I say and am really enjoying it and would hate to have to lay off indefinitely already. Thanks in advance for any help.

Here is another thread you should read. I just realised it is not listed in the other link I gave you.
