Been getting knee problems alot lately, have been jogging/running over a year and because of joint issues i reckon i am going to have to stop it now..

My question is in order to keep the weight off that i lost what can i do that is low impact and cost effective?
Spin classes locally cost 5 euro and i can't swim, half embarrased to as i am quite hairy!!!!
I can't afford a full gym membership so any suggestions would be welcome..........thanks!!

Get yourself a bike and start cycling and bodyweight training.

But maybe you weren't wearing proper runners? You could look about gait analysis and that could prevent your knee problems

Diet i am fairly ok on though i am not totally strict as i tend to get a bit peeved off when i am unable to run, comfort eating if you like.
As for a physio i will probably go but i am reluctant to hand out alot of money as i can't really!Very few physio's tend to offer all the info in 1 session, his i have learned....
Bodyweight training is something of interest alright.....i do have the CC pdf on my computer, did feel like a bit of a tit reading and doing the exercise just afer it though!!

Runners are pretty good, motion control, have had gait checked and next step is orthotics but that is a big old can of worms......350 ish euro is pricey tbh,can be gotten cheaper but would rather go to a place linked to a reputable shop

What kind of stretching are you doing before/after?
Is your job a desk job?

I can understand your reluctance to go to physio, as I've been to a couple and only recently got decent help (for a knee problem caused by running). Those two were always some of the first questions they asked, because if your legs aren't limber or your hips have an imbalance, then your run might be subtly/slowly causing your injury.

I wouldn't worry about not being able to swim, you'll get into it quickly after a month or two you'll be flying along. I re-learned to swim for the same reason.

I found cycling to be a bit hit and miss with regards a knee injury, it's definitely easier on the knees, but you have to be careful to about how you're set up on the bike and how you cycle. The huge repetitions used for cycling can aggravate the problem further, in my experience.
