It was a little bit epic last night . It would have been nicer if some more had joined.. But me and Kotten had great fun. Only one Practice, Qualifying and Race, but I was shattered anyway and couldnt manage anymore..

we were very close on times, and the race was fun.

Hope more can join us next week

Its a chat/file share/voice chat etc,a small app that lets you see who's online and what game they playing.

I think its more of a commitment issue. Maybe if we set a day every week? Perhaps Sunday evening at 8pm weekly?

I got rFactor2 a few days ago so I'll be up for races in the future. I'm just waiting on my new wheel, I'm hoping it will make that Skip Barber 2000 car easier to manage.

There's a great Skip Barber "how to drive faster" video on youtube that really helped though. It's great having a video telling you how to drive the same car and track that's in the game. It cleared up a few things I was doing wrong.

The best instruction videos ive seen are the ones iracing release regularly on iracingtv but that one above is very good.
As for rfactor 2 im hearing so many conflicting opinions im not sure if ill buy into it just yet, im having too much fun with Game Stock Car 2012 and Formula Truck both from reiza studios.

I was kind of surprised to find there isn't all that much content in rFactor2 as of yet. I haven't dedicated too much time too all the cars, bar the Skip Barber 2000 because apparently if you can drive that thing you can drive anything, I'd believe it.

I was coming from NetKar Pro into rFactor, graphics wise rFactor has NetKar beat and you do notice the bumpiness of the tracks straight away but outside of those two things I'd put the two sims on a par. NetKar just has cars that are more fun in my opinion, the fiat 500 in NetKar is just great fun to throw around a track and nothing in rFactor comes close to it.

If we all could find a sim that we all like it would be cool to get this once a week racing thing going again. I know there is iRacing leagues for Irish living people but its all so hmm serous somehow. I think I need to get into iRacing again. I haven't had time to race for about 6 months. But really miss it. Got into some online BlackOps 2 because many people at work play, but that just ain't the same... WAY to many people acting like they are 14 years old.

Would like to give Game Stock Car a try but have to pick one sim to put my money on. Thinking that should be iRacing but the more I play iRacing the more it feels like I should have 3 monitors. Not sure why but iRacing feels slow somehow without 3 monitors (I know I would regret trying a 3 monitor setup).

ScumLord if you live anywhere close to Dublin 15 you are more than welcome to drop by and give rF2 a try. For me rFactor2 feels kinda the way rFactor does when you really have all plugins and stuff working (real feel and such) the way you like them.

Game Stock Car 2012 is only €16 which is insane value when you consider the content, its an updated version of Game Stock Car and its the very very latest Gmotor2 build,infact i think its the only sim running the very latest build [i could be wrong] its tweaked well past the rfacor 1 build..
There is two versions of demo available, a 60 min one with all content or a 30 days one with 2 tracks and 4-5 cars to race with, the second option is the better.

For me its the best option right now as i dont have time to dedicate to iracing but the likes of f12012 etc are far too easy and feel rubbish compared to a proper sim.
GSC 2012 and Formula Truck both Reiza suit me fine ,excellent and rewarding physics,full on sim,but doesnt require mountains of time.
I joined up with the race department club once again for some fun clean casual races, great fun!

Thanks but I'm on the other side of the country and have already bought rFactor2 during the week.

I joined Race department too but I'm going to wait until my new wheel arrives and I get used to it before racing online.

My consistency is pretty poor at the moment. I can put in decent lap times but I might go off track a load of times to achieve that time. Not much good in a race.

Damn it Dcully hehe. Now I even more want triple screens hehe. Think I will give the 30 day version of GSC a try and see what I think.

This thread was not so much for rFactor2 events but more about getting any weekly event going with any sim. And try and get some nice community around it
