Any idea what kind of feed we will get from nasa tv ? Any of the mars orbiters imaging the landing ?

MRO will pass over just at time of descent and then again one orbit later when MSL is on the ground and will feed the saved imagery back at its next link to earth ....afaik! try the http://eyes.nasa.gov/ model of the descent, it shows where the orbiters will be during descent

Sound, have been watching that stream, just didn't catch it when they said it'll land.

The one I'm watching is a bit ahead of the one you posted:

Good morning people, not usually a fanatic of this kind of stuff but this seems really interesting. Where do you find all the information on how much left to travel for the mars rover?
Sorry if it was allready mentioned, I can't seem to find it as I just woke up :D

DE-SPIN - The Spacecraft is now de-spinning from 2rpm to Zero in Preparation for Entry.

ON the NASA tv feed are we watching it with the delay taken into account, or are they cheering what they think should have happened?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,527 ✭✭✭✭namloc1980

Cheering what should have happened. Curiosity is already hopefully sitting on Mars in one piece for the last 2 minutes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,578 ✭✭✭✭Turtwig

They were cheering the de-spin and that the vehicle was still responding I think.

Thanks for ustream link, seems better quality and more up to date by about 30 seconds than the Nasa TV feed (at least for me it is).
