In October last year while training for soccer i suffered an ACL tear, a medial tear, a sprained anterior and 2 fractures in my tibia (all on left leg) i didnt have surgery on acl injury and the injury was non contact.

i have been back training but havent played a any matches since and was wondering if a knee support would help when i go back playing matches again. im 16 if that makes any difference.

Go and see a physio. You need somebody to test your strength and mobility and to prescribe exercises if you're not at the level you need to be at. It's a job for a professional.

I went to physio and do the exercises he gave me. My knee is ok now but would it be better to wear a knee support for going in for tackles and stuff. I'm still hesitant when I go in for tackles because of it.

My first time back training n Monday without a knee support after a similar injury and I've resprained the knee. Wear a support. They're a lot less cumbersome than a recurrence of the injury and should help in ensuring it won't recurr. I'm banjaxed for at least two weeks again. :(

I wore one for a long long time after doing mine - twice, as it happens - but now no longer wear one. I found it a real mental obstacle to stop wearing it, but once I did there was no problem. If it happened again I would probably wear the support again for a period.

Has the physio told you that you're ready to go again? Has he given you any targets for strength and agility that you've met? If he has and you have then there shouldn't be any physical need for a support but it might give you some confidence and help you ease your way back in mentally.
