hey everyone! im proud to say that since Jan 2010 i have lost 3 and a half stone through weight watchers! im currently on maintenance and have been since june 2010. Over the past few weeks i ve put on around 3 or 4lbs. since i did i have not had one 'treat day' or 49 points. To be honest, most days im constantly hungry and eat very few of my points. Despite all this i havent lost weight in about 5 weeks, i stay the same every week and i want to lose the 3 pounds before i go on hols. Like i said, i dont splurge, i ve upped my regime at the gym and nothings happening!!
i ve been at family gatherings over the last few weeks and while they tuck into gorgeous desserts i eat fruit!! its getting very disheartening. my leader just tells me 'this happens' but im getting very frustrated. A few others in the class come in after a weekend of eating and drinking and lose 2pounds!!! some people have advised me to have a pig out day to kick start my metabolism but i dont know if this will work? would love any feedback!

    Hi wishinonastar!

I had the same problem a couple of years ago, and I even went to the extreme, getting my thyroid checked! But nooooope, all fine.

I found that I was in the same rut as you for pretty much the same reasons. I was eating very little and working my a*** off! and every week I was the same weight, same inches, EVERYTHING.

I found out that because I was eating less, my body was essentially going into a starvation mode and anything I did eat was stored, and on top of working out 5 days a week, I had managed to lower my metabolic rate, and thus caused this viscous cycle of maintaining the few extra pounds I was trying desperately hard to lose.

So! What I did was, slowly and steadily increased my food intake day by day with good food with a decent amount of points, and I eventually got into gear and I started losing weight again...It did take a couple of weeks though
And I'm not great at drinking water, but during this getting back into gear, I drank A LOT of it!

The point system is pretty good in terms of what suits you best, going below your average intake is just risky because the rut becomes unbearable the harder you try, and if you're like me, will lead to an emotional binge, and thats when the weight creeps in, in those pesky 3-4lbs.

I hope this helps, as it helped me

And well done you for the fantastic weight loss

    Lemai,

Thanks so very much for replying! wow amazing how reading your story was like reading my own! funny how what your telling me seems to be pretty much the same as what family/friends are saying. And yrs ago before ww i went to a nutrienist at my local gym who basically said that if you eat little or too much of the same thing your body will hold on to it AND anything different that you give it.

I will definately try your advice!

    Thanks for the kind words!
