    Do ye eat them?

I had always assumed that most people ate the skin / scales on fish and I also assumed that they contained lots of good nutrients. For some reason I also assumed that it was the skin that contained those omega oils that are meant to be good for the brain.

However, I saw a friend frying a piece of fish and then peel off the skin. I asked why and she said she was throwing it away; she said that no-one eats the skin and thought it was strange when I said that I did! :pac:

I eat the skin. Don't know about the nutritional value but it's damn tasty :)

Depends, I had some grilled sardines here in Dublin once, oh man, the skin was so nice, crispy and perfectly spiced.

I'm not the only one so! :pac:

I have not being able to get much detail on the nutritional value of the scales other than
Fish scales are said to be rich in calcium, phosphorus, collagen and a host of other nutrients which help prevent osteoporosis.
