Who do people fancy this week? Can't resist Phil at 20s i think. Mahan, Watson and Scott also at pretty good prices i think. Watney and Simpson also. Will probably have a few quid on Jiminez too at 200s.

Sneaky feeling it might be the long awaited first major win of Sergio's career

Victor Chandler paying seven as is local bookie John Mulholland in Galway

You'd think Powers or Boyles would go 7, it's as wide open as the British Open

    US Open
    Rose @ 30/1
K Bradley @ 60/1 & 5/1 for a top 10.....definitely the value bet for me on this grafters track

Have to add Tiger @ 8/1. Deep down, we all know he's going to be in the mix on the last day.

Going to keep faith with Elson @ 50/1 in the St Omer

    Justin Rose @ 30/1 (Bet 365)

    Webb Simpson @ 80/1 * (Boyles)

    Davis Love III @ 150/1 * (Bet 365)

    *E/W

Tempted to add another one but I'll leave it till Thursday if anything. Was torn between a few names I said earlier in the season a lot of my bets will be focused around including Laird, Bradley or Simpson namely. Had to take Webb at those odds though. Bradley, Haas and Laird have been all over the place, more so than Simpson as he's played well at times. Just missing a 4th round in recent times to add to 3 very good rounds when he has played well.

Interesting that Davis Love's odds have dropped generally. He has been a regular of my US Open and/or PGA Championship betting for many years now, and has performed more than admirably. Was close to winning the US Open 2 years ago if that for just tailing off a tad on the back 9 of Sunday at Pebble Beach.

    Looking @ Davis Love 5/1 top 20

Couple of top 10/ top 20 bets are as close as you can get to guaranteed money in golf imo, will be deciding on a couple before tee off.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,984 ✭✭✭Degag

    Have decided to go with

    Phil
    Mahan
    Bubba
    Watney
    Simpson
    Jiminez

Considered Scott and Bradley also but decided against.

Top 10 is what I had back in 2010, tis a good bet. Loves the US Open, played well last week too.

Just had a look there, Top 20 for Love is 9/2 generally. Might stick 20 on that. Decide later.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,516 ✭✭✭Hoki

Mcilroy is fairly massive at 20/1 , him and Tiger will be my two main bets I think, Westwood is never far off either when I comes to majors but I think 12/1 is a bit skimpy for him. Dufner and Zach johnson will probably get the rest of my money

Tiger is 10/1 on PP at moment, 6 places.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,003 ✭✭✭iggy

    Did Tiger win @10/1 PP
    And Rose e/w @30/1 PP

I've backed Rose the last few times so not gonna stop now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,632 ✭✭✭✭okidoki987

Stan James were 10/1 for a while but back to 15/2 now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 70 ✭✭Wishful Thinking

    Backed Mickelson 22/1
    Harrington 80/1
    Mahan 45/1

All 7 places with John Mulhollands

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,056 ✭✭✭applehunter

    I'm a sucker for Sergio.

His missed putt on the last green last year cost me 2k.

But think he thrives on the difficult courses so with him at 50/1.

    Westwood is my other bet.

Small savers on Kutchar, Tiger, Donald

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,033 ✭✭✭ForeverYoung90

    Mickelson 22s
    Garcia 45s
    Mahan 40s
    all e/w

Baddely to be top Oz player
Harrington to be top Irish player

    Stake: €1.60
    Potential Return: €93.60
    Realistic Return: €0.00

    Westwood, Lee 12/1 5e ew
    Kaymer, Martin 50/1 5e ew
    Quiros, Alvaro 200/1 10e ew
    Glover, Lucas 250/1 2.50e ew

Westwood will be in the top 10 if his putting is decent. Kaymer is due a decent tournament in the US after disappointing so far. Quiros is a big hitter who will do well if he putts. Lucas Glover is an outside bet.

Why not go each way? You're getting 5/1 on a top 6 finish.

As expected after yesterday's round, Tiger slashed to 31/10 best price. Generally 5/2 however.

As long as he finishes in the top ten I will consider this tournament a success for the hero

Furyk very solid so far, two birdies, 2 bogeys, and loads of pars.

Woods has dropped, only 2 strokes behind though so don't expect his price to become any better for the punter.

Mclleroy has had a disaster. Davis Love III isnt doing me any favours either at +7

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 25,953 ✭✭✭✭kryogen

Woods has battled back for a share of the lead again

  • Site Banned Posts: 26,456 ✭✭✭✭Nuri Sahin

Clutch in the end by Davis Love to make the cuT. Couple of even par rounds and he could still end well.

TW was terribly unlucky at times, struck the ball beautifully for a lot of that round. Another day and that is a round 2 - 4 shots better off. Can't see odds coming down whatsoever despite a chance of it earlier in the round.

Webb Simpson and Sergio flying the flag for me now really in a chance of winning this. Sergio with a similar round to Tiger from what I hear. Simpson collapsed towards the end but if he can finish at +5, again I wouldn't rule him out either.

David Toms. Frustration :) Only word I can say after last week tipping/betting on him.

    Looking forward to the weekend.

The Field @ 10/11 on PP (Everyone apart from Woods and Furyk)

long way to go yet but tiger looks like hes very close to getting his game back..he looks to have total confidence in his swing and seems like hes at peace with himself..he got interviewed after his last win and you could tell everything was starting to click into place for thd great man as he was very happy with how he swung it..i cant see him not winning from here.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 25,953 ✭✭✭✭kryogen

Still a long way to go in this and a bad round can take you out of contention, if Woods is within a couple of shots of the lead at the end of the third round I will start to get excited about him.

Would love to see him do it

TW has never won a major when he has not lead going into final round.

    Just be wary.
