Who diagnosed you with a burst vessel or was it self-diagnosis?
Definitely get to a GP for a referral.
How long does it last? Get screened for any bleeding disorders.

Other than get get a Rapid Rhino :) (no it's not a sex toy)

My GP was able to do the procedure in his own clinic. No need for any referrals. It took around 5 or 10 mins.

I had been getting them for years as well. It's not always 100% effective though. In the 3 and a half years since I had it done, I have gotten two nose bleeds. One of them was due to having a bad cold though. Still, it's much better than getting one every few months.

If I remember correctly my GP said some people have to go back and get it done every few years.

Sorry, he's based in Cork. I can PM you his details if you want though. He's not an ENT specialist so I would think that other GP's should be able to do it. It seemed like a very simple procedure.

I got my nose done last summer in the Eye and Ear, I'm pretty sure I had to get a referral for it.

Arrived a few days later, waited for hours to be seen and finally did by a new doctor. They spray something in your mouth that is supposed to be a painkiller, it tastes like piss and just burns your throat  The doctor did it 3 times to me and then had to get a second doctor in to double check it, turns out the doctor did it wrong and missed (THREE TIMES!!!) The experienced doctor tried to do it but messed up a good few times too, eventually I suddenly passed out as my body didn't know what was going on and woke up shaking violently in the chair (like you see in the movies when someone is being electrocuted).

So in short, I was not happy with the education level of the staff or the wait but all in all it was worth the no more nose bleeds.
