Lice or mites...

Ive been staying in a very dusty apartment for the last few few days staying in a spare room with a musty smelling old matress. there's been a mattress protector put on it and I've been provided with brand new bedding, quilt and pillows. On the 2nd night i started taking notice of getting nipped, thats how I'd describe it, it also feels like theres invisible insects crawling around on my person, not like 100's or 1000's of them, but I'm scratching and brushing myself a hell of a lot, also feels like theres little particles in my eyes making me blink and rub my eyelids. It's like a tickling sensation on my exposed arms and face around my nose.

When I'm out and about it doesn't bother me but if I'm sat stationary or not active, I become aware of it. I'm afraid to say anything to my hosts because after observation, they dont seem affected and are oblivious to my distress. I was looking up dust mites, bed bugs etc and all of them are, as far as i can tell, visible to the naked eye. My tormentor is invisible, or at least I've failed to see, locate or capture one. Is it just dust making me scratch or am i host to an invasion of microscopic critters.

I am definitely, definitely not imagining this. It's 345am and i cant sleep thinking I might be inhaling something nasty thats going to make me ill. I can smell the mattress too. This is a nightmare...

...and I'm here for another few days...

    Help!...

I'm wrong, dust mites are only 250 microns in size, a quarter of a millimetre, and cannot be seen without magnification. Now I do feel like I'm crawling with them and they're in my eyes, nose and back of my throat. I vacuumed the room and mattress but now I'm reading that that only aggravates them...

This is truly the stuff of nightmares. I'm generally a very clean, hygienic person. Are these buggers gonna hitch a ride home in my bags and clothes and infest my own house...

I've never had any allergies or skin conditions.
