Exercising a lot, eating 1500 calories - still not losing weight?

    Sorry to post another of these threads.

    I'm 18, 5'4'' and weigh 9 stone 4. For the past month, I've been exercising 6 days a week, running apx 35 miles a week and on a day that I don't run, I go on the crosstrainer for 40 minutes.

    I eat about 1500 calories a day, sometimes 1600- 1700 if I have a long run of over 8 miles that day. I'm sure that the problem isn't with my calorie estimation, I weigh most foods and I'm certain that my calorie estimates are within a hundred calories of the actual value.

    Yet, I'm not losing weight. I lost one pound the first week, but since then, the only movement on the scale has been daily fluctuations.

    I've read a lot about starvation mode, but if that were so, surely I'd have lost weight initially, before going into starvation mode.

    At present, I don't do any strength training and am working to fix that, but given that at present my main goal is fat loss, I can't see that an absence of resistance training would be the cause of my not losing weight.

    Help?

    How many grams of protein are you eating a day?

    How many meals do you have per day and what times? Could be the problem

    To be honest, I've no idea, I've only been counting calories. There's a good chance I'm not eating enough, you're supposed to eat a gram per kg of bodyweight or something, right? Can not eating enough protein really prevent weight loss though? I was under the impression that to lose fat, the most important thing is that calorie intake < calories burned.

    I'll admit that I eat fairly irregularly. I always have breakfast, usually porridge with raisins, often with an apple afterwards.

    I might then be working from 12 to 5, so I walk to work, which takes an hour. I'm a waitress, so I'd be running around for those hours, then I get my dinner in work, usually a salad or a panini.

    I then go the gym/go to the gym.

    As a result, I might end up eating 700 calories at night, to make up my calories for the day.

    The obtuse point that I was making was if you're not aware of your macro consumption, you're probably getting your kcal calcs wrong. Especially if you're not losing weight over a month.

    This is assuming a "perfect" month where you haven't had any cheat meals and every day has been in the 1,500-1,700kcal range.

    It's simply not possible that you're failing to lose weight at a given kcal level (assuming it's correct, which it appears to be) unless you're getting your kcal count wrong, or you're eating kcals and not recording them.

    Youre at this a month. Does your weight normally fluctuate with your cycle?

    You weigh most foods. Which ones do you not weigh? Can you give an example of your diet for a day?
